I’ve been to Alanya last autumn. Nice place, friendly people, though as a tourist you mainly communicate with service personal and merchantmen, I guess, not with “normal” population.

Can’t know about the place you’re planning to visit, but my impression that there is a lot of historical places in Turkey if one’s interested. Handmade carpets are praised, and there are indeed carpets of different patterns and colours and techniques to please every eye. As to the rest… my impression that “tourists towns” are the same all over Mediterranean: endless quays with sea and beach on one side, and restaurants and shops on the other.

I like Turkish cuisine – it’s neither too spicy or too fat, exactly as I prefer it. As to entertainment… I’ve climbed on a camel – would that be an entertainment for you?

All depends on what you would be interested at and how much time you will spend there.

A must to be at:
Effeso
Pamukale
Capadoccia

Istanbul (the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia, etc. etc.the species market which I could not make it...

Ankara (I would not miss the Ancient civilizations museum, stunning!)

Turkey is fascinating, nice people, great food, stunning places...
