In the wake of the "7/7" London terror bombings, a new Rasmussen poll reveals that half of all Americans -- and seven out of eight Republicans -- feel that the best response would be a retaliatory military strike. News that American missiles might soon start raining down on their heads came was greeted with shock and awe by the people of Leeds, England, from whence hailed all four of the alleged suicide bombers.
Well that poll didn't include me, and I'm against another stupid war to be involved with. If England wants to goto war, than its their issue. I'll back whatever they feel is right as that I feel awful for them in their time of greif.
Sadly to say, I'm ashamed to say I'm an American because of the president and his way of thinking. If I meet someone from a different country over the net, I always say I'm from Canada. I don't want to feel any backlash towards me because of the place I was raised. I love America, just not the people representing it.

Well ... The post is more to illustrate the futility of it all. Not meant to paint all Americans with the "New Conservatives" brush. Trouble is the thinking US citizens don't seem to be amongst the 22% that vote.
Many americans have and are currently moving up her; this in a way is unfortunate, as they really should stay and fight the current regime in any and every way possible...what would have happened to the colonials that declared independence from England if all those had moved to another part of north america, like New France accross the Appalachians or left north america entirely....woul a revolt have taken place or would have the Brits remained in power and become more draconian...until everyone decided not to challenge them...(personaly I like the idea of revolutions and I've seen quite a few..)
I really would love to stay and fight this, but since the number of those who are willing to fight are so small, its almost a lost cause. The last person to challenge Bush for the presidency was Kerry, and he wasn't that great of a leader.
With that in mind tho, I'm thinking if a good leader came out and united all those people who think the same as me, all over the country, than we could make our stand. Then on the otherside it might end up like the last part of "1984" where the charactor is brainwashed to follow orders of the person he questioned.
Uh, you don't really think the US would indiscriminately starting raining tomohawk missles down on a an English city do you? I mean please tell me you're kidding.
I believe in a strong offense, but that's just insane. That has to be one of the most baseless and paranoid things I've ever heard from what I'm assuming is the left. I hate politics on here, I'm here love not fighting, but I couldn't stand by and let this go without throwing in my two cents.
I think some of you guys need to stop watching CNN.
By the way terror attacks are not the fault of Republicans.

Quite right ... Power in the form of farm land before the Industrial Revolution and Money or the resources to make more of it after the Industrial Revolution. Or religion which is really the un-elected parallel government in any democracy.
