I didn't read your link but I saw a story about it earlier today. I think he's a crackpot looking for attention. It's not like he has a farm and is raising animals for food or that he goes hunting.
I think he's bored, and wants to make the point that we ignor the fact that we eat animals that are slaughtered and packaged for the supermarket shelf. I shed a tear or two , then had a chicken salad. But, I'm sure the chicken died of natural causes....

He is only doing what many people all over the world are still doing. Preparing their daily food. It is what humans have done for thousands of years.
When I was a child, around 8 years old, one of my Saturday jobs was killing chickens for sale in my father's shop as boiling fowl for sunday dinner.
I think Zukerberg's publicising what he is doing, is just bringing to people's attention that the food they eat once was a living thing.
This is something that many people forget, or don't want to acknowledge. I like that he is making people think, and maybe have more respect and gratitde for the animals who grace our tables.

Hi Ginger
I think that it is important that people acknowledge what they eat.. I dont eat much meat.. I sort of get all funny about it if I think of the actual animal.. I guess we can all trick our brain to think the meat comes from Foodland.. but recently.. this issue arose with my granddaughter... she just would not eat tomato.. so that was that.. and one day, just before the cold weather came on, I took her out into my garden to pick some little cherry tomatos that had ripened late.. she popped them into her mouth.. Her parents said, " but she doesn't eat tomatos" but somehow, she took a liking to mine from the garden.. so now, If we buy pizza we have to say that grammy gave the shop her tomatoes, to put on the pizza, and she will eat the pizza happily...dont know for how long we can fool her tho.
So its a state of mind... I think Zukerberg is doing a good thing.

Hi R. Yeah we can all fool ourselves, and sometimes it is necessary to fool kids into eating stuff, or they would all live on sugar.

You mean Filet Mignons and T-Bones don't come from "Foodland" ???
Goddess4u: Being a vegetarian I find that I never have to kill my cheese to eat it
Unless it is labelled as having a vegetarian substitute rennet source, then this is what you are eating...........
"Natural calf rennet is extracted from the inner mucosa of the fourth stomach chamber (the abomasum) of young, (dead), unweaned calves. These stomachs are a by-product of veal production. If rennet is extracted from older calves (grass-fed or grain-fed) the rennet contains less or no chymosin but a high level of pepsin and can only be used for special types of milk and cheeses. As each ruminant produces a special kind of rennet to digest the milk of its own species, there are milk-specific rennets available, such as kid goat rennet for goat's milk and lamb rennet for sheep's milk."
