The rituals vary according to where I'm sleeping: In the truck - brush my teeth, close the sleeper curtains, strip naked and jump between the sheets. At home - Walk outside, take one last look at the world, smoke a cigarette and finish my coffee. Then brush my teeth, strip naked and jump between the sheets and turn the TV on. Camping or at rendezvous - Bank the fire, brush my teeth with baking soda, take one last long look around at the world, then pull off my moccasins and put 'em under my blankets. Remove my hat and put my spectacles inside and place near my head, then crawl between the blankets.

No Ma'am - I don't reckon there's a snake alive dumb enough to bite me. No it's because sometimes I have to move quick and it's easier to make my way through the bushes without worrying about certain "parts" getting "tangled..."
