I regret giving up my job to go to London with him as he'd lost his job. We've now split and I've been looking for a job for nearly two years now. Lesson learnt never give up your indpendence for anybody no matter how much you love them as love dies and you have to live with the consequences.

good for you. Some divorced women keep their husband's name. I wonder why?

I went back to my maiden name but some of my friends did not, for a variety of reasons one of which was they wanted the same surname as their children. Wasnt an issue for me, my children just see it as me having my Fathers name and they have theirs.

Not divorced, yet, but changing back to my real name was a cleansing exercise.

Some keep their married name because of the kids, they would usually take the fathers name and keeping the married name maintains consistency.

One of my ex partners took my smile awayfrustrated - when he came back years later to ask my forgiveness in what had happened in our relationship ... I told him i could never forgive him but i was pleased that threw that learning experience with him i maintained to gain my smile back once i was rid of him :0) And vowed no matter who i meet i would never allow anyone to take my smile away !

I regret marrying husband 1 & 2. The good times did not equal the way they both ended. With cheating.

The only thing good about both endings was that reason made it easy to file for a divorce. No regrets. There was nothing left.

I will be applying for my maiden name back. It seems at least they could throw that in, ha.

Twice in the past 5 years I have gave up my job and security by moving to be with a partner. But I do not regret it no matter what the consequences because it felt right at the time. I do understand your frustrations with your work though op.
