In response to: do i need a toaster ..or can i use a blowtorch?

There is a blowtorch meant for use on pastries and Creme brulee. You can make toast using the broiler on your oven. You have to watch it like a hawk because otherwise it will blacken in seconds when you get distracted. It's great for sub rolls. Just open them up and toast the inside, Then, you can pull them out, add cheese, melt the cheese under the broiler, turn on the oven, make the sub, put it back in a few minutes to warm it up. I think oven toast comes out tasting much better than toaster toast, and after figuring out how easy it is I feel like bread is only "mostly done" until it gets toasted now. professor
