So what do you do,close yours quietly,or "Slam" it shut?

There is never a day where I don't hear a neighbour "Slam" their door, whether it is their front or back door, their garage door or car door, even their garden gate! It makes no difference either if they are entering their property or leaving it. My immediate neighbours on both sides slam their doors, it vibrates right through my building.

I never slam any door, even if it's "sticky", a sharp tug usually does the trick.

So what do you do,close yours quietly,or "Slam" it shut?

I hate slamming doors. I even tend to turn the handle when closing a door, so as the bolt bit doesn't 'click'. Yah, It's a silent house usually.

I only have to slam one door here when it's been raining as it swells and doesn't fit all that well. It's not used all that often, so it's not a problem as such. It can;'t be planed to fit either, as it will be too loose in the dry.

Please forgive E, I put my hands up I'm a habitual door slammer I do have door stops but tend to always forget when they are taken off the door just slams shut, my neighbour has warned me about it , but I always then remember for the next few days and then forget again slipping back to my habitual habit of letting the door slamming maybe I am a bit absent minded I do try when I remember though.confused Lol.

slamming doors is a good thing - positive proof that the door is closed : there's nothing worse than a half closed door banging constantly in the breeze ...

I have dodgy doors in my rented house.

Luckily my neighbours are very hard of hearing.

They said they never hear the baby crying, (quite pleased for themselves and the baby, I think).

I said, if you didn't hear my daughter giving birth, you won't hear a thing. wow

We get on well, we do.

I agree that you have to make sure a door is securely shut and not banging in the breeze, but my point is,do you have to actually slam the door?

I have an inner door for my garage from the maisonette, sometimes the latch doesn't always engage causing the door to open slightly. If I pull the handle down and pull the door closed until I hear a click the door will remain closed...so I don't have to "Slam" it.

No-one dare slam a door in my house as I'd slam their head at it.

My two birds are always flying through the doors and I'd go mad if they got squished if someone slammed door as they were flying through it uh oh

Hi Eoswave

No not guilty of this act! Hate to hear a door slam.
I found most that were leaving my car almost take the door off its hinges, wallop! It makes me cringe! In my opinion its a sign of aggression. wave hug
