So what do you do when its all over? When all vows have been broken and your left alone raising two beautiful children? Guess today is just one of those days where you realize how scary it is to be a single parent. When your the only one supporting the ones that love you and your left to face it alone....

So I have this ring that holds so many memories from my disolved marriage and it sits in a drawer on a shelf hiding away. I have no clue what to do with it. Any suggestions?sigh

It's hard, it happens to a lot of people, my mother went thru, the same, just don't give up, and the best thing is one day after another one. and sell that damm ring, take it to a pond shop.

"Pond" shop Izzy? Feeding the fish with diamonds again?

I'd prefer she took it to a "pawn shop" and sell it. At least she'd get some money out of it. I did that with mine once and never regretted it.

Still love you Izzy...besitos papacito lindo.

Why pawn shop? I'd find a jewelry dealer that doesn't just do sales - they'll give a good amount of $ for gold and stones, then put it into bonds or an IRA of some sort for the children.

I say keep it for one of the children. I would have been thrilled to have my mother's original wedding ring, but it was lost in a fire.

does it still hold the same sentiment when divorced, though?

I suppose if looked at in a way that originally it was out of love...even if it didn't end up that way...

got me thinking, lol. =o)

My mom took hers to a jeweler and they made her a beautiful ring for her right hand out of it....she felt she "did the time", she should be able to enjoy it even without my dad around...her and unfortunately us kids.

I did try to sell mine but I have exceptionally thin fingers and so no-one would buy it as the sell-on was limited !

After the pain of the divorce I now wear it every day on my right hand. It's a beautiful piece of jewellry and that's all I see it as

technically, mine was re-set...so it isn't as a wedding ring, it's in a tea setting.

i wear it on my right hand.

I'll go with saving it to give to one of your children.

I had my husband's g-mas ring she gave to him to give to me. I put it away with the intentions of giving it to my daughter one day. He ended up taking it and I think he sold it.. I dunno but I still wish if he still has it he hands it down to our daughter. I had other jewelry disappear at the same time so I have a feeling he sold it..sigh
