I just made cinnamon biscuits tonight. Nom nom nom nom nom! They're just like ordinary biscuits except they get cinnamon and sugar in the batter. Also, I'm talking about American biscuits not English cookies.

I am afraid I don't have any but of course there are loads of recipes on the net. Did you know there has just been a Study published that cinnamon can stave off the onset of Alzheimer's, so any cinnamon you can eat is good.

1 cup self rising flour

milk to just moisten.

cut the crisco int the flour with fork until becomes flaky
add milk to combine.

use spoon to drop onto a greased(pam) or nonstick pan.

bake until ridges start to turn brown approx 12-15 min.

butter em up and add your favorite ingredient.

Americans have something called biscuits. They're like dinner rolls. English people call cookies biscuits because they are confused from drinking in pubs all day. confused

Aussies have biscuits which you call cookies too.

It always amused us to see Americans in films having biscuits with their savoury food laugh

barf

laugh

We have adopted the word cookie to some extent but most are still known as biscuits in order to keep some semblance of national identity wine

I guess the art of biscuitry is a dieing art because of that frozen goo. It's cheap fast easy and good. But I like to make biscuits from a recipe or Bisquick because sometimes that stuff is laying around the house.

Here's a really really easy really good recipe. Get one can of that sticky almond pie filling and all the frozen crescent rolls you can get. Spoon the filling into the uncooked crescent rolls, roll them up so the filling is sealed in. Bake as directed. These are drug like. The only problem is there is always left over filling and the rolls vanish fast.

I make biscuits so often that I never think of the recipe. But I do know I throw some flour, a pinch of salt, a pinch of baking soda and some butter flavored crisco into a bowl, add some sharp shredded cheddar cheese, a touch of slivered almonds, mix all together with just enough milk or water to moisten, throw it in the oven (at 350) for about 20 minutes or so and voila! YUMMY biscuits!
