I've worked rigs, but somehow managed to keep all my fingers and never fell from the boards,..nope, I fell from a roof, onto another roof erecting a tower. The crane swung the load over and the load let go, so I jumped so the load wouldn't crush me,...oops,...no more roof,...so down I went,...
Yeah, that H2S is nasty stuff,...but really quick!

Rolled a car on Rannoch Moor in the Scottish Highlands many years ago. It was night and pitch black, the car rolled many times down the hillside and came to rest on its roof. I got away with a few stitches in my head.
Another time I came off a climb about sixty foot up. I watched in horror as my first runner (a placement put into a crack in the rock to arrest a fall) popped out. My next runner was about ten feet bellow me which means I would fall about twenty foot before my weight came onto it. A body falling twenty foot generates a massive force and there was every chance the runner below me would pop out also. I even remember having the time to consider this as I hurtled toward the ground below.

At age 1,2 I was sitting in the back of a El Camino and the driver had a head on collision, I was through from the back of the truck and was comatose for a few days.

The runner held!!!
If you read my trip through the treetops in my racecar, the same thing happened to me it's amazing how much goes through your mind in such a short time. I think it may be a function of the human brain to speed up dramatically to allow you to analyse the situation and react quickly and accurately to possibly save your life. People talk of things going in slow motion but obviously time doesn't slow down.

when I was about 12, back in 1982, I fell of my horse..
had some brain damage.....concussion and a severe fracture at the base of my skull.
went into coma for 2 weeks and it took me about 2 months in total to 'come back'.
the strange thing is, I saw the accident happen from above...my horse went grazy and wanted to throw me off but it didn't succeed for a few seconds or minutes....not sure about the time... but I saw myself from above hitting my head against the pavement.
I then saw my aunt, who passed away a few weeks before, but she turned around and 'walked' away from me...
next thing I know of....is that I woke up in the hospital and it was two weeks later.
it happened a long time ago, but I can still experience the whole ordeal as if it happened right now...

I breathed too much carbon monoxide gas while trying to kill myself, friends just happened to come by for a visit and they were both paramedics and were able to resusitate me. I rolled a truck with two passengers. I worked on drilling rigs for eight years. I was mugged and left for dead...hit in the head with god knows what and woke up in the back of an ambulance. Had a gun stuck in my face while being robbed on two different occasions. Lived with a psycho chick for a while. Had accute pancrititus (sp?) and the doctor didn't think I would make it through the night. Had alcohol poisoning on many different occsions. Took a lot of drugs and stuff.... ` Let me think if I've missed anything...if so, I'll add it when I get home from work.

Wow! That sounds totally surreal! The only that I noticed with my events was time dilation,...everything seemed to be going in slow motion,...and I do indeed remember everything to this day,...but to actually "witness" the events from outside,...wow, now that is trippy!
I've had a few near death exper. Non from an accident but from being born a diabetic. There are to many to list The first one I was sick alot and the doctors told my non that nothing is wrong and your a first time mom. When I was 16 months old I went into a diabetic coma. The doctors told my mom I wouldn't live past 8 and 12 would be lucky. I'm 54 now.

When I was five days old, living in Bournmouth England, my Gran had just taken me out of my cot, two mins later the cot was in the garden, the front of the house gone, a German bomb dropped in 1943, killing many people.
