I was in high school in Niagara Falls and used to skip out of school every other day, go across to the states and drink and play pool.

I got honours in Grade 9,...and then it was off to another town for Grade 10,...yup, got real good at 8-Ball,...but Snooker became my forte down at the old pool hall! Do you still play? I can remember 20 cents a glass, and yeah, I also remember 21 as the legal age, but I remember very well that it changed before I had to worry,...April 1, 1971 it went to 18. So I never did have to try to sneak into a 21 bar,...mind you, in 1971 I wasn't all that succesful at getting in at 14!
That's why it was important to have older friends!

I got honors in Gr 12, but it was only because my dad was a high school teacher and he transferred to *my* school.

a 1957 Ford Meteor (pink and white!).True muscle car when the muffler fell off!
After that, a 1966 Ford Meteor with a dynamite small block HC 289. Nice to meet you!

it was OK to drink out of the garden hose
it was OK to walk UP TO THE TELEVISION and TURN the stations with a dial
DISCO....the hustle, the BUMP, John Travolta....AND the Saturday Night Fever buzz...
Sundays were exciting cause we all went to "the beach" which really was a man made lake that seemed HOURS away
paying TEN CENT fare on the TTC (toronto transit)
a surprise bag REALLY had a surprise..and it was only A DIME
buying cigarettes for my dad at the age of SEVEN and paying FIFTEEN CENTS (export A regular )
Having diapers delivered to our house (when my baby sis was born, (circa 1970)
all seven of us, AND my parents, cruising in my dads CADILLAC CONVERTABLE..and seat belts were NOT mandatory....
Listening to JIM CROCE blaring out of my cousins Olds CHEVY SS and EVERYONE, i mean EVERYONE was happy and we all played in the park till all hours of the night
playing hide and go seek until midnight cause our relatives were over and they were busy chatting and eating/drinking
getting home after school BEFORE the street lights went on
playing nikki nikki nine doors on the entire neighbourhood....
ahhhh...the list can go on..... great memories
