What would you pack in your suitcase for a trip or would you simply take a carry on?

Travelling light is the way to go, a few changes of clothing and my laptop stuffed into a duffle bag works for me. Anything else that I might need can be purchased while on vacation.wave

langleygirl: Nice to see that Chuckles is revving to go!!

As for a laptop Ken - that is definitely NOT on my list.
I live in a different city than my children and much of my communication with them is on the PC, so my laptop goes with me whenever I travel.wave

First I would have to go and buy all new stuff to wear. I then would pack just what I would need.

hmmm...I tend to pack too much- because I have a hard time making those little decisions - but I do know an essential to take from up here is atleast 1 large empty suitcase inside a larger empty suitcase - to bring home all the shopping!!!

Or you make sure to only bring stuff that you're ok to leave behind! I don't think I'd be bringing anything too expensive with in the first place, considering how easily luggage seems to get lost. doh

The layering is a great plan heading NORTH,...be a real hoot seeing the layered LG deplane into +36 degrees down south,...just how many layers were you planning on? Like I said,...overweight charges are likely on the return trip.,....rolling on the floor laughing

Are you referring to the amount that I'm going to weigh? Drinks and good food could certainly pack on the pounds and maybe I won't be able to fit into anything!!

Where the heck do you get 36 degree weather ...... OMG - I'm thinking tropical but not that warm. I remember being in China when it was 40 degrees. It was not pleasant.

rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing NO! I was referring to how many layers of clothes my petite friend! I had images of you looking like the Michelin Man with all those multiple layers,....and yes,...+36 was a bit high for this time of year,...the hurricanes keep it much cooler than that this time of year!rolling on the floor laughing

Well if I had that many layers, I could be ensured that I'd have some cushioning in case of an emergency landing!! Now that brings to find that other thread, have you ever?

had to use one of those emergency departure slides in a airplane? laugh

No, I haven't but have had to sit by the door and was instructed what to do in case. The only aviation mishaps I have ever been in involved helicopters. All my commercial flights have been without incident,...except the one flight where the movie was "Ernest Goes to Camp"

Ernest goes to camp? OMG - I think I vaguely remember him.

Not sure if I want to hear about the mishaps with helicopters! Sometimes its best not to tell.

So now I just need to decide on what makeup to bring and shoes of course ......... I see for a rainforest I'd need hiking boots .... that I don't have and also it would take time to break them in. That would be a cool holiday though.

well actually - we are allowed 100 pounds per person, so that is 40 pounds of luggage for Glen (that's fair for the average guy) and 160 for me! We were actually 5 pounds over-but Air North is used to is I guess...it's Yukon's airline and shopping down south is what we do...my boss brought shelves back from IKEA - you do what you have to do!dancing

I think that's wherein inline wheel luggage comes in handy!

absolutely, and it stacks together too! LOL and that weight isn't counting what is in carry ons and my purse! Those luggage carts are handy things too...and I have to say that Glen did a bit of shopping as well, but you have to understand, I had not shopped for clothes, shoes or purses on the outside in over 2 years and Aldo and the Gap were calling my name!applause
