Just wondered if anybody has bought tickets for the Olympics next year??

Is London ready for them? Looks like some of the stadiums are fantastic? applause applause applause

Is London/UK getting excited about the prospect of tens of thousands extra visitors in an already busy city?? confused

Just wondered as I remember the Olympics in 2000 in Sydney.

My kids were in primary school when the Olympics were on in Sydney in 2000, ALL schools in the area were given either free or hugely discounted tickets to the Paralympics.

We went as a group from the school and a few of the venues were close together so we had a 'Day pass' ticket - it was just great. The kids loved it and it was just a totally different atmosphere, so uplifting and I remember a whole stadium of kids spontaneously singing the Australian National Anthem when someone won a gold medal. I was choked up.

Enjoy!!. thumbs up cool

Don't know if it has been done yet in London but I know from past experiences that the working population of Sydney were 'asked' to take their annual leave when the Olympics were on!! To free up the public transport for visitors?mumbling very mad sigh

What a cheek? I can see the same thing happening in London?

Oh and just heard that Paul McCartney will be a big part of the opening ceremony? confused

Nothing against Sir Paul but geez the UK is awash with fantastic talent - is that the best they can do?? blues
