If admin can see who is quite obviously randomly giving out these thumbs down and if they're going to act on it. It's quite clear that this feature is being abused by possibly just one or two on here and could quite easily put off new members or more sensitive members from using the forums.
As far as I can see the thumbs up or down is as it stands totally counter productive and we would be well rid of it.
But then again it does help to show what sad people there are out there.

sigh

I agree Gra...........some sensitive peeps may not want to contribute which would be a shame.

In other forums that are archived I have noticed that the posts that have a reaction i.e. a thumbs up or down, they are hidden. Could it be also a space issue dunno

cheers

bodleing: Yes very well thanks...

I know most of us couldn't give a fig about this, but my point was, it could be off putting for new members or upsetting for some posters. The feature is not being used for it's intended purpose and personally I think it should be removed or admin could deal out a few bans for those who...well quite honestly deserve it.

Yer i agree. Totally off putting to new members.

I've complained to CS about many of these changes as being a step in the wrong direction. At first I thought the thumbs were a good idea but now I hate them because as said it is being heavily abused. The other point I made was about hiding someones post from everybody. This is especially troublesome to me because it is a blatant form of censorship and a violation of a persons right to free speech. The ability to ban another member from a thread is also completely wrong IMO.
