My son got his results today and did quite well. He will be able to get into the uni course he wants. I'm very proud as he worked very hard. Anyone else have someone that did the Leaving this year?

My daughter did the LCA and passed. A great day for her, and me :)we were told when she was 3 that she was mentally disabled and would never develop beyond the stage she was at.

Well tongue to the so called expert who told us that, she went to a primary school for children with learning delays, went to the local community secondary school with the minimum of extra assistance and is off to College to study make up for stage and screen next month. Lots of tears and tantrums along the way but she is a bright, outgoing young woman who I am very proud of.

Yep. My eldest got her results today too. She calculates that she'll have about 30 points surplus to what is required for her UNI course.

Thats good as they haven't published the 2011 points yet and some might have gone up but surely not by 30 pts. Depends on the demand for certain courses. Won't it be strange to have kids at Uni? conversing

The course she wants has never reached her number of points (fingers crossed for this year) though it has been climbing slowly.

She applied to the CAO through the HEAR (Higher Education Access Route) programme so she should be safe enough, finances dependant.

Lucky you.

We don't have a UNI here. She'll be going to Cork, hopefully.

Cork is a good city to live in and not too far away from you either.

My "student" has just gone off out to celebrate with his friends. Celebrating at home with his family wasn't good enough roll eyes

Mine left too... gone to a house party

Aren't they just crazy...? wow

I've been gathering the supporting documents for weeks now. You'd nearly need a degree yourself just to fill out the forms. help
