DecentHKLady: ITALY IS ASKING CHINA TO BUY A LARGE AMOUNT OF THEIR NATIONAL BONDS. I REALLY HOPE THAT CHINA WON'T BE SILLY!!!
Why should developing countries as China bother about western countries' irresponsible attitude towards money management?
Because the export market to these Western Countries is why China is devoloping so fast. Take the European and US markets away from China and they will be in big trouble also.

Well, if just buying a little for keeping the relationship going. It's fine. But committing herself in a high-risk investment is the "must- requirement" to keep export going, that's blackmail.
And BTW, it is not essential. China has a large population for developing internal consumption.
I just think money is for helping ppl who are really needy. There's vast amount of ppl real poor in China!

Think of it is a consolation for all the industry, genius, technology and science the West has given away to the East.
But you're right, China is balancing and developing itself in internally, and on completion she will drop us like a stone.

I believe China will rule the world again sometime soon and then there will be no more poverty, hunger or hostilities. Everyone will be busy and happy serving China's needs!

There is a long way from this.
Think of how the poor workers dying in highly dangerous and v ill-conditioned factories that manufacture DISNEY's souvenir products. Some are not yet dead, but seriously exploited and handicapped.

Because the PRC government know that 75% of the chinese population cannot afford the products that China manufacture. The west can!!!!!! By offering to support Italy, African countries etc, China is establishing loyalty rather than blackmail.
However, unless China does something to help their own poor, they may well find that the rebellion taking place in countries like Libia, Egypt et al, will happen in Beijing, the disparity between real poverty and real financial wealth in China is huge, Big businessmen flaunting their wealth, even buying private jets at millions of dollars, yet cannot get a pilots license to fly it. While farmers scrimp and save to try and pay for their childs education, working 7 day weeks 15 hours a day, often splitting a family as one or both parents move to another city for work.

As a matter of fact, I think the West and China has a rather funny love-hate relationship.
I read someone wrote on this forum that Chinese regard the America as a land of "honey-and-milk". But I think the tide has turned that China becomes an apple in the eyes to some of them.

Internal consumption takes time to develop. It's true. But getting involved in large amount of deadfish investment is like a no-return suicide.
There's a big gap between rich & poor is a fact. Can be a topic for discussion but another issue. I think it happens elsewhere, in Africa, even in US. Warren Buffet has the point that if American government is resolve itself from the present predicament, it should levy heavier taxes from the rich. This is the world - capitalists are the real winners everywhere.

Yeah, I know what you mean here. I'm quite attracted too and love Chinese women, but they hate me.

what Capitalists? Warren just want's to be ahead of the Executioner! Figures if he slashes his Arm off,his Neck will be spared!
DecentHKLady: The Party leader need to know but the West also needs to know that China does not owe it to them for their near-broken status.
There is traditional value for Chinese to work hard & save money, which is why the country develops fast.
Yes, but China has been buying a lot of gold and other scarce/precious metals an doesn't your country have a history of changing your currency or its values to keep any savings in-line or worthless?

Not agreed. He's prepared to give all after death. In fact, he went around the world, including China, to persuade rich guys surrendering all to charity after-death. He's amazing.

Until the Leaders of PRC address the Issues mentioned in this Article, and actually improve all around, there will be no improvement for the people of China!

Yes fondness for gold is a tradition for Chinese and Indians.
But I think for the currency to be free for international exchange, it takes time. There involve a complex issue for expert to work out.
I too hope that CNY is free for exchange. When this happens, perhaps Hong Kong Dollar can be replaced or linked with CNY? Now it's linked with at fixed rate with USD, and USD is weak. This' why Hong Kong now is very poor.
