cynicalorange: Although mildly disturbing as to how angry this cat is, it's actually reacting to the owners 5 year old daughter who it's never seen before.Would you put a pet before family? My opinion, I have my ducks and they're content with the shed and river and are more than capable of looking after themselves.
But, love me, love my ducks
5-yr old daughter hm, could have fooled me. Looks like this cat is reacting to mescaline and tripping out (eye's dialated big time) or it's having a difficult time bringing up a nasty hair ball. yuck

Hmm, and because pupils are dilated, it's tripping out??? You've never seen a cat play, hunt or interact with anything I guess?
They open a LOT to gather as much information as possible about their surroundings.
Hair balls tend to have a 'hacking' sound at the same time. It didn't do it once in the whole video.
The research found about the video in the OP was all saying the same about the daughter.

That cat is terrified, not angry or temperamental. If it was cross it would have gone for the mans hand.
Ears laid back, dilated pupils, licking it's lips (dry mouth)... my cat does that too when confronted with something he is scared of.

I have a cat and I'm not married and don't have kids. A few months ago, I adopted a 3.5 yr. old cat. She is afraid of babies. I didn't know this until there was a baby around. I hold my cat so the baby can see her (the cat) but I let my cat run off and hide.
On Halloween 2010, my gorgeous siamese seal point died (15 and 1/2 yrs old). She was something sassy and sweet. But she didn't care too much for strangers, disliked loud noises, and sudden movements. She was known to pop my brother upside his face when he didn't let her go. She'd growl at him and if he didn't pay her any attention, pop...then she was let up. I think that as a pet owner we have to know our furbabies and let others know what they do and do not like (being petted by strangers, held, other cats, etc.). My siamese was a wonderful cat and brought lots of joy but she was just shy when it came to people that she never met before. I can't say that I would put my pet before my family because my cat(s) is/are apart of my family. I can say that if I met a man and he told me to choose between him and my cat, I'd tell him, "Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya."
cynicalorange: The cat is reacting to the owners 5 year old child, as stated in the OP. Not drugged or being scared into acting like that for the camera.Which lead me to the question of, 'Family or Pets?' and 'Would you put a pet before family?'
The video was only an example of what 'could' happen if family and pets don't mix.
I didn't say it was drugged, or being scared deliberately. That's not a young cat and it's terrified of a change in situation... meeting of the 5yr old. Give it a couple of hours and it will settle down and relax when the trust builds.
No choice has to be made as to which comes before the other, just some understanding.

If a choice had to be made the cat would be drowned
