well the US government is taking the state of alabama to court because it want to have tougher immigration laws in place. i feel that every state should have tougher immigration laws to make it hard for illegals to live here and take jobs, and benifits away from americans who need it more than those people do. the illegals are not welcome in this country because we are overtaxed in the first place plus they are breaking the laws anyway. this nation cannot be the melting pot anymore. even the legal immigrants that are living here don't like those people. we should have tougher laws that prohibit them from getting anything. also the border should be closed up tight and have the military to help patrol both borders. we must protect the homeland from any threat that faces us and that includes not having illegals from entering the nation. those people are taking away jobs from americans, getting into college basically for free and other benifits. even when they have a job. they send all their money back to mexico and they file for welfare. this is not right and it should be stopped.

I find it ironic that the federal government has all the time and resources in the world to fight the states in a court of law,but does not have a clue when it comes to enforcing immigration law.

At least that is an honest statement you do not hide your dislike for immigrants legal or illegal.

People who run companies they are smart and they look for profits so if they delete Spanish in the options for calling, they would lose many, many clients!

No es buena idea!

the above statement is false.
You even highlighted what he did in fact say. he said quote "EVEN THE LEGAL IMMIGRANTS THAT ARE LIVING HERE DONT LIKE THESE PEOPLE"

Who Are "THE PEOPLE" he is referring to in the post???
(Illegal Immigrants) He does not show dislike towards legal immigrants nor do I. So I sure hope you see the grammar here. And I hope you also see what a HUGE mistake and what grand fights you can provoke by making these remarks.
If I am incorrect I will be the first to admit. But For me, English is my first language and as you have stated here in the forums that English is not your first language....after seeeing this I sincerely wonder how much you truly do understand. It is a serious topic. especially when communication is not clear or even present.
Get a book on it.

Being from Alabama, I feel that if the Feds are not going to control illegal immigration, then are we to just let it ride, turn and look the other way?

I see both sides of the issue...and my simple question is: Why not do what you have to, to get legal? Alabama is NOT against the legales, it's the "illegals".

If we, as an american (or any other nationality) were to go to some of the other countries without papers (legally), then most likely we would be thrown in jail, charged as spying!

This has just been my opinion on the subject.

Have a great weekend,
-John-
cheers

I love it when ppl state facts that aren't correct. "getting into college basically for free...".

Copied from US News--- In 1996, Congress passed a law barring states from giving unlawful residents "postsecondary education benefit" that they don't offer to U.S. citizens

Agreed.....or even worse as we would not have any rights and we might never be seen again if we pulled that type of crap in other countries....I never did.

Nikogas: You too??? why do you say these things??

WHY.....Because those of us who have anything remotely resembling an open mind know that the diversifcation of immigrants who make up this country is what makes it great ...........
Discouraging immigration by pounding on illegal Mexicans for political posturing by Republicans isn't something that does anything but cause more hatred towards Americans.
Causing hatred towards Americans seems to be becoming a favorite specialty by some today ...thumbs down thumbs down thumbs down thumbs down

Some people do not understand sarcasm dunno They should have a book on it where people can reconize it. Sometimes it is difficult to reconize in text. I did not clarify it for him . I did it for sparrow. No need for her to think he meant that. bouquet

Thank you for the clarification, Happygolucky. I feel much better. The undertones of some of the posts are obviously anti-Mexican (legal or not) even if not stated outright. Sometimes it is hard for me to read these opinions, but that is America...land of free speech. I, for one, celebrate our diversities. Imagine what would have happened if the Native Americans had been able to keep all the immigrants out. Where would we ALL be???

mustbnutz: ""What good would it do to take a STATE to court?? this makes no sense!!""

The federal government in the US has sole domain over immigration matters in the 50 states.....that is why....pure and simple. It is a question of law and nothing more. The feds will win this legal fight when it comes to immigration law.The states are just frustrated because they get stuck with the costs of educating and taking care of the health of folks who are here because they did not come thru legal means. In other words the people that are here illegally did not go through the legal immigration process like most law abiding people.
How would you feel if someone moved into your house without your permission and you were forced to educate them and when they got sick you had to pay their hospital bill.......how would you feel??????

I would charge them rent...simples grin
