cynicalorange: To my PC when it decides that it needs to reboot to install the updates, just as I'm in the middle of something important:
"Why do you do this to me?"
Maybe it's life's little way of telling you that you need a break.. or it at least does!!
However, I's sure you know, but just in case and if Windows, go to 'Control Panel' and you should see an option for 'Security', then select 'Change Settings' and you can select when the updates are to be done, (daily, weekly and at what hour etc..), but that also you can download updates automatically though it will let you decide when to install them, (you usually see a wee icon bottom right of the screen atrracting your attention)..
If its another program, again there will be options for updates, just let me know the program and I'll see what I can find out
Otherwise, get a Mac!!
Getting back to the thread.. I'm thankful I was able to install new hard-drive in laptop and get windows going as well.. (Mac's out my price range at present.. )

I have it set to do all the updating at 3am, but it seems not to like doing that. Instead, it waits like a Ninja until I'm busy, then pounces and demands to be rebooted!
The Macs I use, behave perfectly and are trained into submission! They annoy me, they know they will get powered down and no battery!

Thanks for helping though
Your welcome and another thought, have you checked the clock in the Setup as you boot up?? Long shot but it may be set on a different time zone
