montecito: Is it a male?

If not, then Fred made another mistake by calling them "Mr." Happy...hmmm

Back to thread details. I will not be going anywhere. However, this will by my first Thanksgiving together with my sweetie as she has traveled back East the last couple of years.

We plan on having the works. Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Candied Yams, etc.

I'm even considering a green bean casserole, but haven't decided for sure yet.

We've already got our Christmas tree up (its artificial and our first full size tree, and it was on sale so...) and are decorating it. She will be gone for 2 weeks to OH after TG , so...I'll be here by myself for that time trying to eat the turkey up solo, and then she'll be back for Christmas.

Hopefully I'll have thought of something to get her by then. I don't think candy canes qualify as a substantial Christmas gift.

I never said anything like that. It's not my thread, and I'm sure the OP would step in if she minded. I just contributed my story for turkey day.

(Turkey sandwiches require stuffing and cranberry sauce in order for them to be "Holiday" turkey sandwiches.) grin cool

I guess I misunderstood your post. Sowwwy..help

I agree that the sandwich needs stuffing and cranberry but it also needs a little gravy just to hold it all together.

Now back to who is the man that.........I forgot why I'm looking for him..doh

You can open an envelope from McCormick, add 1 cup of water, simmer for a couple minutes and WOW, you have gravy.

Singlelisious: If you celebrate Thanksgiving day, what are your plans for this one coming?

I am going to New York City to visit my family and friends and of course few days of PARTY!!!!

woohoo!!!

We do not celebrate Thanksgiving Day but some Americans living in Mexico do.

It is a nice celebration when family and friends get together to give thanks. I had some wonderful experiences of it in US. Once we (my family and I) went to sleep over to a friends' house so we got up around 5 am next day to see all the preparation for the Turkey and other dishes. Then we went to church at noon time and coming back we had the banquet with more than 20 dishes for it. I just could not taste many of them.

It would be great to have a picture thread of it for other cultures to see.

A bit early for but Happy Thanksgiving to you and all who celebrate it.

Take this story with a bit of a grain of salt. Much of the story is accurate, but historically, many people died from starvation and some from both sides resorted to cannibalism to survive before the first Thanksgiving in America…Squanto died from the same fate.
