How many times in our life have we really payed attention to this absolute certainty: one day, we won´t be in this world...
how many times, uhhh?

It is actually interesting to think that the world is still going without all those before us, people carrying so much self-importance, but also others carrying so much wisdom and humbleness. Well, in the end both extremes go down to the same point: nothing.
I just find this fascinating and I try (just try) to see this world, one day, without me.
I try to find in that idea the spur to think that my time here is limited.
What are your thoughts about this?
CHeers...peace

It is fascinating, how the human species assumes such significance.
Only natural I suppose with it's supreme power and dominance over all other species of this planet.

Our universal importance is another matter altogether but there are those that think it is all about us.sad flower

I see, once we have thought our existence carries a special significance in the universe, we start seeing disease, death and the alike in human life as tragedies, and not as simple happenings that do not have any weight in the course of the universe.
So coming down to the individual: is that thought of our vanishing useful to steer our life in a different direction? maybe just to live more like an animal, and away from his human pretentiousness..?

I world without me? Don’t see it would change much. There will be a few people who would mourn me for a while, some sincerely, some just for the show, but that’s all.

Never, till now; is vary distant truth. Attention to this means living at that distance called ???....blankness.......rarely anyone can be so confident and brave, to live there. But those who lives there for certain fixed required time, are immortal(with body or without body) humans. peace total blankness, is being complete.

Atleast being scientific is also nature of some humans who do not accept the simple things, thoughts, style and go for the same through a system with step and ability to do that, in a knowledgeable work and success like a true researcher and scientist. professor

Yeh, something like that.

So coming down to the individual: is that thought of our vanishing useful to steer our life in a different direction?

For me, if you accept it that way you are then free. If you can't accept this you become tied into religion, fantasy, hope, beliefs etc. all driven by the fear of not vanishing totally.wow

maybe just to live more like an animal, and away from his human pretentiousness..?

We would be doing the planet and all it's other inhabitants a big big favour if we did live individually like animals. At least there would be trees left to provide leaves to replace the missing toilet paper. Unfortunately it is not in the nature of this beast to peacefully cohabit. Our superior brains unfortunately seems to be flawed with a greed and aggression dysfunction.

I try to avoid thinking of the inevitable and although it may be considered morbid to think such thoughts, I often ponder the finality of my existence and of those around me...especially the people I care about.
On Thursday, I witnessed a horrifying accident on the highway that upon reflection, humbled me in a way nothing else could about our short existence. Life really is too short.... sad flower
