Pop Up Ads, WTF?? (8)

Just when we're not getting hit enough on the forums, now we seem to be getting them in our mailboxes!?!?!?
Sort it out, as it slows the pages down and the advert won't go away until it's played and renders the page unusable!

CO, do you mean the ads that pop in the Ad Robot space? If so, I bought something this morning from Lenox and now an ad for Lenox is popping up with the Ad Robot. I've also noticed that when I buy from other stores online, ads for those stores pop up on the right side of the screen.

In the Ad Robot space, I have nothing. I use Adblockplus that stopped all of the adverts showing.
Last night, I had a black square appear in the top left of my screen, and tonight it played a Lenor (I guess the same product as you got, a fabric softener) advert to me.
I have no cookies or anything else stored from any other site as I cleared the cache and cookies when I shut down for a reboot. So I know it's come from this site.

No, it wasn't Lenor. I bought Lenox. It's very expensive porcelain figurines, dishes, etc. I thought everybody knew what Lenox was. So if you got a popup ad for something I purchased, that seems crazy. I guess when I go to Omar The Tentmaker to ask him to make me a dress, you'll know that somebody else on CS was shopping at Omars Tentmaker store... That'id be me...

montecito be careful buying on line. i have bought alot on line too but 2wks ago i found some thing on my visa report that i did not buy, luckely i got it in time , had to get new visa card.------ This thread is Archived ------

Firefox with the Adblock & Flashblock add on's fixes most ad issues :)

Found a way around it, thanks to a very nice man who mailed.
Notscripts for Chrome seems to have stopped it
Get to totally block the ad robot as well
Oh, and before anyone whines about adverts supporting the site; my PC, my rules.
If the site provides me with a PC, I'll grudgingly look at adverts for products I'll never buy and websites I'll never visit
