galrads: England deserves no respect from anyone else in the world. Even The Romans tried to civilize the bunch of barbarians but gave up. England did not come out on top here in the USA and if Roosevelt hadn't given your dipsomaniac leader Churchill an endless credit card, Britain would've been mostly German by now, instead of Half-Americans.

Enjoy your snot of tea.

The original Anglo Saxons were German doh

The Romans didn't "give up" they conquered England, but left in order to defend other areas they controlled in Europe. They never conquered Scotland.

And if the Pilgrim Fathers had never left the UK, Americans would be speaking Spanish and most likely controlled from Mexico.

rizlared: Um no, British English is a specific language and is very different to American English.

British English is a recognised term by the two leading language Universities in the UK as representing Standard English; American English is recognised as a derivation of that language.

But if you want to disagree with Oxford and Cambridge Universities…………….

Oh, and in all versions of English there is a space after a punctuation mark!!!

English is different to American English???What utter nonsense!!
