Don’t know about jobs on Malta, but it looks like they always need people on oil rigs, in Norway and Canada, for example. Though I doubt they accept women… Discrimination! professor

Hi Marki, Malta is a lovely place! There were always so many CS members on the site from there, but lately they all seem to have other stuff to do? Am sure someone will pop up here on your thread with some good advice....bouquet

Is there job that isn’t hard? Once upon a time I’ve been acquainted with few ballerinas from Mariinka – of what I’ve heard from them, it’s a horse’s job. And not well-paid too. But female job is seldom well-paid and often hard.

sigh

unfortunately also over here there's crises but there are jobs available especially in the hospitality and catering industry. wages are not the best, but you can still do a living and have fun at the same time.

Aww! (Standard greeting for the commoner).

The best job on the island is that of a Minister of Parliament.

Apart from the usual perks, you get paid twice, and handsomely too: once for being a Minister and once for being a Member of Parliament. You can retire on a pension after supposedly doing a five-year stint in Parliament. I write supposedly because the pension is not performance related and you only have to show up in the Parliament buildings when voting is in progress.

Cool, very cool.

Oh, it’s nothing comparing to:

“President of RF, as well as members of government and parliament have right to use public transport for free.” (c)

I did not really miss that.

The allowance was for about €600 plus, but since it was very generously lowered to €500, I thought that I would not bash the Honourable Prime Minister about it out of gratitude.

As if Members of parliament are bothered with using public transport!

Here, you will be lucky if you could get on a "State of the Art" bus against payment, let alone for free.

Our MPs have a chauffer driven BMW or Jaguar with all other imaginable perks.

I`d recommend South Africa as a good place to get into politics - if your skin is not too white that is.

There you get to us the military jets to send your family members over to Dubai to do their Christmas shopping - and the tax payers pay the fuel bill, and the pilots salary, and all the other costs of jet maintenance, without the usual hang-ups of owning your own jet!

Yes, the Mercs and Jaguars and BMW`s are standard - except you also get to be able to afford sporty jobs like Lamborginis/Maseratis/Ferraris for your teenagers while they attend University (not to actually study but just to look cool in their designer outfits, and hang out in up-market coffee shops in elitist areas when they get bored with lectures)

Ja, I`d say Politics is a very good career - better than being a Barmaid.

What say you to us forming our own Political Party when we grow up?

Don't you think that we will make a fine pair?

Yah! And maybe Malta would make a nice country to run, especially with that other little island you got there, Gozo.

Or maybe we just take over Gozo and call our political party Bozo ...... The Bozos of Gozo. That could stand for .......?........ B - Beer, O - Orientated, Z - confused ..... Z for ....? what`s the Z for? another O for Organisation. So we got the Beer Orientated Z........ Organisation of Gozo?

Could run the little island on the same lines as Monaco ....... I`ll be the Queen, and you can be the Vice Chancellor - we build a castle, and have motor racing thru the streets on weekends. A couple Casinos. And being part of the EU we can let the Island go bankrupt and get more money from all the other EU countries, so the island will be self-perpetuating, and no-one would have to actually do any work!drinking cheers

Ooops! Houston we have a problem... or three.

1. I don't like beer. Can we change it to booze please?
2. I can't have a Queen that does not know what she is talking about. (Read: “What’s the Z for?)
3. I want to be at least Chancellor and not Vice Chancellor.

Your turn.
