Firewood goes by the square metre not length. I'd love to see you try and get that in your car laugh

Merriweather: Gosh, that is very kind of the wood merchant.. That is quite some $$ he is giving away...

I am going to buy 2 tons this year of redwood, and fill up the oil heater too.. rather than just using the reverse aircon all the time.. That gets expensive... I try an work out if its cheaper to use wood and or oil... than to come in the house and turn on a switch for the air con... I think the wood part is just marginally cheaper... not much. I guess that the option that I usually use is to heat up just my bedroom and sit in bed with the electric blanket on is prolly the most economical.

We have very mild winters here in Perth love winter , usually only need heater on 1/2 doz times so just switch reverse cycle air on better for the envioronment. thumbs up

Nothin like wood heat, might fire up the open fireplace this year and use up my wood heap, make more room for more grass to cut.

I suspect they mean cubic metres - stacked; that would be about 6 tons or so.

Those gas boilers that you can make electricity with would be a good option if you could used the wood to boil the water, only thing is you'd be stoking the furnace with logs and emptying out the ash all day like an steam engine driver rolling on the floor laughing

On the bright side Faithe that's a fair workout! Sounds like lots more than I would do at the gym. If I was still going there. roll eyes
