In fact I've been attempting to get rid of it and rather than just have it taken away to the tip (nothing wrong with it but who wants a TV that's probably 8 yrs old) I looked for recyclers in my area but have only found one and you have to drop it off to them.

I have. The point is I wondered why it was that way. You'd think that if it didn't show on forums which is how I knew to start with, why it should in mailbox. No big deal, just good old technology again.
