The kindness of one can, and will be, so readily exploited by another. You need a sense of reciprocal loyalty between Human Beings to grant love and compassion any meaning... without this, the whole concept of being kind becomes twisted - are those that commit an act of compassion of a truly self-sacrificing nature? Or do they behave this way for the warm feeling it gives to them? Essentially, this is kindness itself becoming an act of self-service.

In my opinion, a truly kind person must never speak a word of the kind deeds in which they do. To promote your own virtue is selfish.[/quote]I agree 100% with this statement. I am simple trying to express the need to show acts of kindness. I am not asking anyone to tell us what they have done,I'm simply asking suggestions of what people CAN do.
Stay cool ! peace

So, after saying this, can anyone name something else we can do to show kindness towards our fellow man or woman ?

There's no need to justify yourself, I honestly didn't mean what I said with any one person in mind. It's just my general thought on the subject. Sorry, I appreciate why you may feel I was being personal.

In my opinion, sometimes telling about our kind deeds to others can and often does promote better ways of thinking for them. I don't see that as any bragging rights, but simply a way of sharing and perhaps, teaching the acts of kindness to others.

Perhaps..

To that I would say that a role model leads by example. The actions speak a lot louder than the words.
