one thing I did do was offer to split my Chinese Take Out dinner with a man who lives across the street - he had been working on his truck for several days - nonstop it seemed (I had forgotten about that)

Very good. It was nice of you to know that he had been working on his truck. I bet he was trying to get it ready for the new work week. Who knows, but you were nice enough to take him a bite to eat. It is so easy to forget about stopping and taking time to rest and eat sometimes. He is a lucky guy to have you as a neighbor.

thank you - actually he had already just eaten - but I wanted to at least offer - and the offer was sincere - the chinese place always gives me waaaay more food than I can eat.

Oh No !!!! Here you go my friend. I am sorry to hear that. It must be in the air. I had someone here on CS be mean to me also. Why do they bother the nice ones ? It's not always fair, but I think that some people are so sad that they only know meanness. We are here to change that. You and I !! Right here, right now !!
