It's gona be about 34c here (about 93f) and sunny with a late change (possibly a storm)
Earliest Xmas memory? I was about 7 or 8 Years old and woke up in the middle of the night Xmas eve. I knew i wasn't supposed to but i went into the living room, and saw all the presents sparkling under the tree. I actually had a quick look around the room and the hallway thinking Santa might still be there, before running back to bed.

So excited!!
Haha so very cool... I remember catching 'Santa" filling my stocking at the bottom of my bed.. waiting for them to leave and finding a new dress among the gifts, putting it on and following the Santas downstairs , was not very popular Wasn't Christmas just the best feeling as a kid ?? Hope you and yours have a safe and happy one .
johnaustin123: Our Christmas in Ohio is very warm...a bit rainy but much sunshine. Normally it's freezing here with lot's of snow. It all depends on the sun and the clouds.

aaah my music man Well we are waiting for summer to start and I am wondering if its'ever going to get here. Its a bit late arriving this year with lots of rain.. Not as hot as our Australian neighbour here but if it gets in the 20s C and not too humid I will be happy ...OOOOH what am I saying ? I am working I forgot and had gone into my happy place...oh well it's up to you lot to have a happy Xmas for me
My first memory of Christmas was about age 3. My parents put a tray under the Christmas tree for Santa with a cookie and a glass of milk on Christmas Eve. When I woke up Christmas morning, there were presents for me and the cookie had a bite out of it; the glass of milk was 1/2 drank.
When I was a child my bedroom was right off the kitchen and I had to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom. I remember getting up to go to the bathroom and there was my mother, at the kitchen table, putting a dollhouse together. She was shocked to see me and played it down that she was fixing something that had broken. Being a child a didn't give it a thought that it was in the middle of the night.
My husband and I did the same thing when our daughter was a wee one. We waited until she was asleep to put together a little metal stove, refrigerator and table and chairs.
When I think back to favorite gifts as a child there were three: A crenolyn.....for the guys, that's a petticoat with lots and lots of layers to make a skirt big and full; a little tin typewriter; and, a doll that felt like a real baby.
Last Christmas, we were up to our armpits in snow! this year is very mild and, while there's snow on the ground now, there won't be by Christmas Day as our temps have been in the +6C range all week.
My first Christmas memory was of Midnight Mass....the choir singing, the church beautifully decorated...but especially the walk home. The stillness of the night with a clear sky filled with stars, the snow glistening from the street lights and crunching under our feet. I grew up in the Gaspe Peninsula in Quebec and enjoyed many traditions....French Canadian, Irish and Ukranian. in Quebec after Midnight Mass, it's tradition to return home and have a "reveillon" (party) which includes certain traditional foods. One of those foods is tourtiere which I make every Christmas Eve and which everyone is looking forward to again this year! Very best wishes for a wonderful Christmas!

This year we are having a brown and sunny Christmas. Its just another day to me. My earliest memory of Christmas is having nothing; no gifts or no food, and to boot an abusive dad so no good memories for me. However; that being aside I wish all you folks a wonderful Christmas and may your hearts be filled with joy.

Hello. It is going to be a brown Christmas here. Hasn't been no snow for Christmas Day since '06. It will be warm too, so the inch of snow that fell this morning will be melted by then. I remember when the whole family was able to get together when I was younger. Everyone laughing, having a good time, and opening presents.

maybe you could gift yourself the sort of Xmas you would have enjoyed as a youngster
