I was one of those strange kids who preferred Gerry and the Pacemakers to the Beatles.

I wonder if OP would flood the forums with so many threads, if posting threads weren't free.confused

When I last posted the exact threads as these last spring not one single person complained and lots contributed, and had I been able to access them I would have, but they have fallen off the archive so I had to put some new threads up.

Now I get two people complaining in less than 12 hours. If music isn't your thing you are welcome not to contribute to these threads. If it is, why not show us some of your music rather than make that sort of comment.

Esther & Abi Ofarim - Morning Of My Life

a cover of the song by the Bee-Gees.

Love this version almost better than the Bee-Gee-Original!

Esther had a brilliant strong voice there. Thank Conrad - it was a good song.

Here's another - and thanks for contributing as I enjoy listening to whatever other post on these 'decade' threads.

Lyrics to You Were Made For Me :

You were made for me (you were made for me).
Everybody tells me so.
You were made for me (you were made for me),
Tell me then that you don't know.

All the trees were made for little things that sing and fly.
And the sun was made to burn so bright and light the sky-ee-y-ee-y
Pretty eyes were never made to cry, they were made to see.
When I hold you in my arms I know that you were made for me.

You were made for me (you were made for me).
Everybody tells me so.
You were made for me (you were made for me),
Tell me then that you don't know.

All the flowers in the field were made to please the bees.
For the fishes swim to make the rivers run to the sea-ee-ee-ee-eas.
Every hand was made to to hold another, tenderly.
When I kissed you on your lips I knew that you were made for me.

You were made for me (you were made for me).
Everybody tells me so.
You were made for me (you were made for me),
Tell me then that you don't know.

Da da daaa da da da da da daaa da daaa da daaaa
Da da daaa da da da da da daaa da daa de-da-de-da-de-da

You were made for me (you were made for me).
Everybody tells me so.
You were made for me (you were made for me),
Tell me then that you don't know.

Every hand was made to hold another, tenderly.
When I kissed you on your lips I knew that
You were made,
You were made,
You were made for me

The Honeycombs - Have I the right:

Have I the right to hold you?
You know I've always told you
That we must never ever part
Oh ooh ooh oh

Have I the right to kiss you?
You know I'll always miss you
I've loved you from the very start

Come right back I just can't bear it
I've got this love and I long to share it
Come right back I'll show my love is strong

Have I the right to touch you?
If I could you'd see how much you
Send those shivers running down my spine.
Ooh Ooh

Have I the right to thrill you?
You know I'll wait until you
Give me the right to make you mine.

Well, Come right back I just can't bear it
I've got this love and I long to share it
Come right back I'll show my love is strong.
Oh yeah.
All right!

Have I the right to hold you?
You know I've always told you
That we must never ever part.
No no no no no no

Have I the right to kiss you?
You know I'll always miss you.
I've loved you from the very start.

Come right back I just can't bear it
I've got this love and I long to share it
Come right back I'll show my love is strong.
Oh yeah yeah

Come right back I just can't bear it
I've got this love and I long to share it
Come right back right back where you belong
Oh yeah
You belong
Oh yeah
You belong

Let's hear them!

I saw the Beach Boys live in London in the late 60s, and I caught the drumstick thrown by them at the stage door afterwards, which I sold to a friend for an amount which I can't remember! Neither can I remember their names - oh the fickleness of fanhood!

I loved you in the morning, our kisses deep and warm,
your hair upon the pillow like a sleepy golden storm,
yes, many loved before us, I know that we are not new,
in city and in forest they smiled like me and you,
but now it's come to distances and both of us must try,
your eyes are soft with sorrow,
Hey, that's no way to say goodbye.

I'm not looking for another as I wander in my time,
walk me to the corner, our steps will always rhyme
you know my love goes with you as your love stays with me,
it's just the way it changes, like the shoreline and the sea,
but let's not talk of love or chains and things we can't untie,
your eyes are soft with sorrow,
Hey, that's no way to say goodbye.

I loved you in the morning, our kisses deep and warm,
your hair upon the pillow like a sleepy golden storm,
yes many loved before us, I know that we are not new,
in city and in forest they smiled like me and you,
but let's not talk of love or chains and things we can't untie,

your eyes are soft with sorrow,
Hey, that's no way to say goodbye.
