"If you cant say anything nice..don't say anything at all"I was wondering do words really hurt people ? If yes..does that say more about the person and society we live in ? or the words themselves ?
yes, i believe that carefully delivered words can indeed hurt someone, and even have a lasting impact. name calling...pppfft..not so much.
sometimes we have to have difficult conversations for the sake of clear communication. but it can still be said, 'nicely' even though information may be difficult to discuss.

sleepin_bird: Hello, you shouldn't be putting up wrong threads then.
Big love back, up the jack
OMG Iam very interested to know PRECISELY according to the CS terms and conditions what you think Iam doing wrong.
I will then take it up with them immediately if i have any doubts.
The Mods at CS are outstanding imho. Ok they have locked some of my threads and I fully appreciate and honor their guidance.
Remember..this is not my or anyone elses forum.
If you asked for my opinion..lol..the constant rude attacks by people are very sad. I would have thought the best thing to do is stay out of threads if any peeps dont like them. Is that hard > Is that unreasonable ? help me.
Unless somebody is forcing people to read a thread against there will ?
Certainly when somebody constantly interupts threads with rudeness..well..then that is force ?

You're right, according to the rules, you're not doing anything wrong. It's just a bit hard to ignore your threads, since there are so many. I actually do think you created some good topics, well worth discussing; however I would have liked your approach a tad more positive, open or inviting. However, that's my personal opinion.
What you consider rude, I might not and my initial comment wasn't addressed to you. The second one might have been perceived as rude by some, but you reap what you sow.
Anyway to make an on topic comment: Words can certainly hurt, but only from people I care about. JMO.

Softslowhonest: oh...thats sounds terrible to be that vulnerable..whoever those souls are.
Not being facicious but not more harmful than dropping bombs on women and children ?
Yes more harmful because if a bomb is dropped right on you then you are dead right away,no more suffering. Emotional wounds can go on and on until the day you die.
Everyone has their different breaking points and not everyone is tough and a survivor. Some people can go through horribly traumatic experiences and survive and go on to thrive, while others will suffer much less devestating emotional experiences and it will scar them for life.

But if mum and dad are killed by a bomb instantly leaving an orphen..who suffers then ? So my point is we should be more worried about deep issues than the words used to elucidate them..get my point ?
Hope so cause I get your point...yes there are vulnerable people who can be hurt by words. I wonder..who decides in society what words are acceptable ? who is the judge ?

Oh gosh I completely forgot why I stopped posting in the forums on this site. The cs equivalent of being given the anonymous middle finger."THE BIG RED THUMB"
High school mentality never goes away no matter how old people gets does it? How sad.
I believe that words can become hurtful dependent on how those words are used towards to another individual and the basis and level of relationship that those individuals have in regards to one another.

Sorry you lost me. You and I were talking about how words can hurt people. You were saying they can hurt more than bombs on women and children.
Iam NOW saying words are completely harmless accept in certain circumstances ie towards someone you love etc. Another poster reminded me of that issue.
