I absolutely agree. I rehomed my three cats a couple of months back because I intend emigrating and would not have been able to take them with me. I do feel 'flat' since they have gone and extremely lonely and at times tearful and never having been that way in the past (always having my kids with me (who have now emigrated themselves) and/or pets) this situation is very unsettling for me. Medication is not the answer - I need to just cope with it and get used to it.

Pets can be hard work (even cats) and expensive with respect to boarding at kennels/cattery if a person goes on vacation, plus other expenses, but they are so well worth it. When things are going wrong a cat can make things seem right again.

My dog has me well trained. He also keeps me out of trouble. He always gets the ladies attention who stop and say hello. He is well behaved and also is a great watch dog.
I would be lost without my four leg, furry little friend.
His name it Tucker the mean mother Fokker. dancing dog

I am certain I am beneficial for him also.

I have not posted much this weekend, as my little dog and best friend had a seizure 3:30 Saturday afternoon. It was her first one ever and she is 14 years old. It was very traumatic due to her age.

I have been tending to her as she has been very weak and had an upset stomach. Some think she may have been poisoned, meant for a pittbull but she got it instead.

My dog and I are very close. She was my traveling partner 24/7 on the truck for 11 years. She protected me and the truck. She kept me from ever feeling lonely. She listens and understands. When I cry, she licks the tears from my eyes. She is so very special!

I have had no problems with high blood pressure or cholesterol, matter of fact, there are times when my blood pressure has been too low!
Perhaps because I am at peace with all of creation?!

I am going to juice some carrots for Sassy in a few minutes. The antioxitants will help remove toxins and she will get energy too.

Please keep her in your prayers. I have already believed God for a miracle and He is performing it!

Glory to God!

I have heard what you say but there can be at least one side affect. Because they need constant attention much like a child; it can confine one to a house. Some folks can't afford a Kennel or know anyone that can watch their pet; so they don't stray much from home. Also, most hotels won't let you bring a pet in; so again that limits you to what you can do.

Don't forget that the entertainment level increases with the presence of a pet. Having at least one cat is entertaining enough but when you have two cats in the home, the interaction between the two is definitely entertaining and humorous.

We are teaching our pets to talk. How long will it be before we can have an in depth conversation with them?

it's all true about pets, there is a problem though. I love my cat but i can't go anywhere abroad in winter. in summer time my son visits him and gives him food and i leave the door on chain so he can walk in and out as he pleases. but now it's cold to leave the door open. He would be bored and unhappy alone almost all the time.

They also decrease your bank balance..laugh

Ive got 5 horses, 3 cats,2 dogs and a rabbit, and they cost a fortune, but I would'nt be without them, they give me a reason to get up each morning, (though when its cold and raining, I would rather stay in bed)
plus I walk an hour a day with them as well as ride, so the exercise is great..

PS.. I paint pet portraits and it amazing how many animals I get asked to do, after they have died.. some must mean the world to a lot of people..

I'm depressed everyday and today was no different. My neighbor got a new dog...a Great Dane and I went over and petted him. My day was completely turned around.

I had a dog named Casey who died 3 years ago. I miss her and even my nickname on CS is attributed to her. I still can't get another dog partly because I am not ready for it yet emotionally but seeing that dog today is making me rethink the situation.

God really blessed mankind with dogs!
