Obviously a democrat... Planning on running for pres?

'American 2816 killed;22000-100000 injured' What kind of party line is this. Having been in the military I can assure you that they don't count casualities this way. 2816 killed ok. 22000 - 100000 wounded. Please which is it 22000 or 100000 or some number in between. The military gives EXACT numbers so they can budget their medical supplies.

Since I found 1 glaring error in your first numbered statement I wont even bother to challenge the rest.

Thank you for you so well researched information sir.

Well the official number reported by the DOD is 21,077. The 22,000 - 100,000 is the estimated number, extrapolated by experts based upon the intensity and frequency of the insurgent attacks. Insurance companies, actuaries and others of their ilk use mathematical models to predict these numbers.

He gave a range, which clearly indicates an estimation. I'm not sure what the basis for argument is here.

dunno

Ahh the obvious keypoints that the democrats and republicans are choosing to be the "Hot Topics" how nice that together theses two "parties" (check literal definition) have had these exact issues to haggle over loudly and fervently, when does this occur only election time. Sure I'm concern but short of mass exodus from voting "party lines" I see no resolution occuring. As My Daddy said if it ain't broke don't fix it. and all these lifetime baby kissers, have been geting re-elected withthe same rhetoric. Yeah these are important issues and they where 10 year ago too. any "new Blood" placed into the political system does become tainted before their second term
which of these on this list will be remedied first.... heres a clue when it hapens after the election it will be paraded as a act of Bi-partisanship.
ever wonder why they have to place that moniker on getting something accomplished????

Is it just me, or does the word "estimation" mean anything to anyone?

Well we are discussing politics. I have learned from the people that are currently at the top of their game in politics.

Lie...

Sling heaps of mud...

Make yourself look like an idoit...

Never, no mater what, never tell the truth without putting your own spin on it.

Never on your life put out a real fact.

the estimation is for the total number of expected casualities we could experiance if we 'stay the course'.

Intersting that we are below the low estimate.

I had not checked into that yet.

No it means a lack of a brain on your part. Do a search on "the internets" using "the google" (as your man says) and you will see numbers that vary greatly. The number is estimated to be between 22,000 and 100,000 based upon independant estimates.

Here's just one site (sorry about the formatting):

US Non Mortal Casuaties:
including non-hostile and medical evacuations
Non Mortal Casualties Army Navy Marines Air Force Total
Wounded - No Medical Air Transport Required 8,865 330 5,035 184 14,414

So within the 21,000 or so is some that went on sick call for the flu or because they stubbed their toe on the door jamb whil running to chow.

Those kinds of casualities happen in peace time and any where the military is.

The number quoted is 44,779 that includes non-combat related injuries as well. That's why it's so difficult to come up with an exact number and hence an estimate.

Where these casualities/dieseases/non-hostile etc injuries for the Iraq war theater or for the US deployments worldwide.

Just curious.

Here's one place: . It isn't comprehensive. The DOD, for obvious reason, doesn't want to give up this information easily.

What independent sources databased this information? What system did they use to gather this information? Who payed for the 'independent' data?

Well, welcome to the seedy world of politics/politicians. Be that as it may, there was no lying involved on the OP's part, that I can see.
