Funny thing with this religion, it's tied up in the contract that you need to spread the word or example and it's the one and only that's right. I've found some sections are more passionate about this than others.

On saturday night saw a young guy in the queen st mall, most concerned that people would not ready to meet their maker. Would say it takes a fair bit of involvement to get out and do that.

It happens for a few reasons.
One is that in the New Testament there is a directive to Christians that they must go forth and convert the world.
Another is that misery enjoys company. Their religion is based on guilt and self denial.
Finally, there is a verse in the New Testament which tells Christlings that they should not marry anyone who is not also a Christling. So, for her to have a relationship with anyone they must also be a genuine Christian.
I can look the verses up for you and provide the references, if you are interested.

These verses are wheeled out whenever Christians contemplate a relationship and/or marriage to someone who is not of the same religion.

2 Corinthians chapter 6:
14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will live with them
and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they will be my people.”

17 Therefore,

“Come out from them
and be separate,
says the Lord.
Touch no unclean thing,
and I will receive you.”

18 And,

“I will be a Father to you,
and you will be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty.”

I left out brainwashing as well as involvement, not wanting to offend anyone that might be reading this. But this is a forum after all and we're all entitled to our views.

A few friends and I used to go into the centre of Brisbane on Friday nights to heckle a bunch of loonie Baptists from Strathpine who stood on a street corner with a PA system and ranted about hellfire and damnation.
The Christlings used to go nuts, especially after they found out that we were pagans. rolling on the floor laughing
It was the most fun I have had with my clothes on.

Not so much my experience, rather life-long observation of human behaviour.
Between the ages of (roughly) 15 and 25 most women seem to go through a bad boy phase, during which time they keep company with the biggest scumbags and losers that they can find.
About age 25 some begin to realise that lad whom they once viewed as exciting and edgy has noting more to offer them than a minimum-wage job, or a welfare cheque and a Housing Commission flat, or perhaps an address at the trailer park. They begin to think that, just perhaps, this might not be something that they would enjoy for the rest of their lives.
Then they begin to show interest in a different sort of male.

Er, no.
The National Front appeared in Australia briefly during the early 1980s and died after a couple of years.

alot take comfort in it, alot have had illness and thats whats got them thru, personally i think if it helps u and u believe in it ,which ever religion ur...then go for it,yes there are people out there that impose there views on other people but normally if ur respectful and tell them "no" they will back off, what i find amusing is the people who are non religious that shout about that aswell and slag everyone elses off ,i myself am open to most things... what i believe in is respect for each person and there religion, and the big one no one seems to have is tolerance, over the past few months on here ive sat back and watched people who i quite liked and had met on here at meets show some pretty horrible traits which have put me right of them, which is why i havent been posting much.

A woman says 'I feel'.

Yeah there are a lot of strange people there, also on plenty of fish and a few here as well. Though not nearly as much action here to compare with. Maybe something to do with them being free sites dunno

I've also met some really nice people on oasis. Given enough time you find them eventually applause

Oh my dear I know exactly what you are getting at,but remember some of these members are lonely and depressed.... often all they have for company at night is a bottle of alcohol to keep them company, and it brings out all the pent up frustrations.

My ex was not a pleasant drunk and at times it was hell,it got so bad that I stopped going out to parties and get togethers knowing what was to come..... he was abusive and sometimes violent, over the years I tried everything to stop him but nothing worked.

I think this is one of the reasons I have never drank alcohol as I find drunks on the whole unapproachable and I would hate to make a fool or nuisance of myself, happy drunks I dont mind at all as it shows their true nature.

The good thing is that when they are drunk you can find out what they are really like.So there is an upside. hug
