We all have issues with liars, scammers, portraying someone you are not, etc. If I am reviewing a profile, there are some key factors that send red flags up for me. Now whether my opinion is justified may be another story. Example, a woman writes she is fit, or athletic, or average in her size category when clearly you can see in her pics she is overweight. Maybe not grossly overweight, but still overweight. If she cannot be upfront and truthful about the obvious, should she be expected to be truthful when corresponding? Example two, has kids, wants kids. If a woman is in her early fifties, I highly doubt she will be bearing children, so don't answer maybe, unless I am misunderstood and that answer means she's willing to accept yours, or possibly adopt, etc. Maybe I am just venting frustration, but are there any triggers that make you turn away?

It used to make me wonder if some people had mirrors in their homes when I saw some profiles :)
However I have come to the conclusion that we dont always see ourselves as others see us and perhaps the person who puts average/few extra pounds/voluptuous although they are clearly very overweight just dont see themselves that way.

I don't know if this was directed at me, but if so, I don't believe I have. I am here looking as many others. I personally am offering the real me, if they like me great, if not thats OK too. I don't want to have to try to back peddle later and explain why I said this or that. I am openly honest, sometimes too much so. I will admit that a few of my pics are a few years old, but only because I don't have any newer. Though my looks really haven't changed. Thank you for posting. I appreciate all points of view. Hey Kevin..yes the question was for you..just something to get ya thinking..I think at times people treat dating like applying for lucrative job and try to improve their chances..its not meant that way its just how they see themselves..

Thanks Pops, I do need a reality check from time to time. Theres a lot of wisdom going through these forums, which is part of the reason I love reading and posting. As far as seriousness, I agree to a point. I can be seen as TOO serious a lot of times, when in all actuality, I am just on a mission. I love laughter, and think that more people need laughter, to lighten up a bit. JMO! Kevin

I think some women may feel embarrassed to admit being overweight as society sees overweight people as unattractive so maybe that's the reason? I think everyone tells a porky or two about themselves on their profiles because they can

I suppose the truth will be revealed when people meet in real life. It's easy for people to lie on their profile but they are only fooling themselves.
