Ian Paisley is the most evil Irishman who ever lived. Before anyone sheds any crocodile tears over his inevitable death, they should ask this. How many people in the six counties lost their lives indirectly because of this man? His bigotry drove republicans who felt they had no choice into the hands of the various republican groups and Working class loyalists into the loyalist paramilitaries. The meanwhile he never got his hands dirty.

I for one will shed no tears for Paisley.

Well I have never been a fan of the man. I think he is a bigot that has done nothing to encourage good relations among people from different religious backgrounds. In the past he has made extrememly derogatory remarks about Catholics that would not be tolerated now.
I was however surprised when I saw him interviewed once and I have to say that I thought that he had a good sense of humour.
However I appreciate the fact that he is an elderly man with a family that cares about him so I wish him no ill will.

He is an evil bigot and doesn't deserve any sympathy.

He might be a father, but his son is Ian Paisley Jr.

Who is as much a bigot as his father.

So no I wont be shedding any tears for him.

He spent most of his life hating everyone south of the border with that little weasel Peter Robinson so why should anyone of us be bothered about him. I know im not anyway.

That is terrible news, although I don't agree with his points of view on some issues, he was a great man for his own people and any catholics i have met from his constituency have the greatest of praise for The Reverend Ian Paisley.he was a man who could get things done for his local people and he treated them all equal , catholic, protestant and presbyterian.
A comic genius and an Irishman we can all be proud of.
Hope he gets well soon. thumbs up

Just a quote. During the troubles someone was complaining about the british army marching into catholic areas and night and keepingb everyone awake marching up and down. Paisley said, " so now ye want the british army marching the falls road in bedroom slippers" laugh
