1. The case of Al Sullivan: Al was a 55 year old truck driver who was undergoing triple by-pass surgery when he had a powerful NDE that included an encounter with his deceased mother and brother-in-law, who told Al to go back to his to tell one of his neighbors that their son with lymphoma will be OK. Furthermore, during the NDE, Al accurately noticed that the surgeon operating on him was flapping his arms in an unusual fashion, with his hands in his armpits. When he came back to his body after the surgery was over, the surgeon was startled that Al could describe his own arm flapping, which was his idiosyncratic method of keeping his hands sterile.
2. The case of the Chinese woman: The author Maggie Callanan in her 1993 book, Final Gifts, wrote about an elderly Chinese woman who had an NDE in which she saw her deceased husband and her sister. She was puzzled since her sister wasn't dead, or so she thought. In actuality, her family had hid her sister's recent death from her for fear of upsetting her already fragile health.
3. The case of Pam Reynolds:This is reported by Michael Sabom in his book Light and Death. Pam Reynolds underwent a very risky operation to remove an aneurysm from her brain, in which her brain was drained totally of its blood so that the doctors could clip off the swollen blood vessel. During this procedure, Pam had a deep NDE in which she saw all of the details of the operation and later reported on it with complete accuracy, even though she was "dead" by usual criteria (no heartbeat or respiration, and a flat EEG) for much of it.
4. Cases of the blind who can see: As recorded by Kenneth Ring in his book, Mind Sight, there is solid evidence for 31 cases in which blind people report visually accurate information obtained during an NDE.
On this site called ASPSI you can read up on a ton of empirical evidence that has been collected for life after death.
Simple answer is no there is no evidence. Its a belief some have and others dont. I think there is some sort of afterlife but thats just a personal view and i dont sweat too much thinking about it. Live this life and dont worry too much about one that may or may not exist.
I don't think it is life after death, in the way some people like to think. That the ego transcend after physical death doesn't seem like a belief I'd manage to keep close. I'm quite sure it boils down to the understanding of existence and oneself, aided by our sensory department, and thought.

Gentleman, ALl the NDEs are the work of oxygen deprived brain .Drugs can induce the same effect . We are nothing but a well nit networking of sensors and organs thats called life .

Can't prove anything though
It is definitely NOT the ego that transcends after physical death. It is soul. The difference between is that the ego is the "monkey mind" of the physical body and the soul is eternal. Through spiritual growth and enlightenment it is possible to elevate your consciousness from the ego to the level of soul BEFORE you die. If you identify your existence with just the physical body (ego) then by definition you are correct in believing there is nothing after physical death (the ego dies). But luckily for everyone, what you believe in this regard has nothing to do with the reality of soul (ignorance of the law (spiritual law) is no excuse) and you will experience the same as every other soul and transcend to the afterlife anyway. We will all find out in the end and what a pleasant surprise for some.
Pixels1: Came across this quote"There are grounds for cautious optimism that we may now be near the end of the search for the ultimate laws of nature." - Stephen Hawking
The LOVE asked to Death:Why do people like me and hate you? DEATH replied to LOVE:Because you are the 'Lie' and I am the 'Truth'....so life is temporary and death is permanent

what a classic. Is there life after death? How can you have death without having a life? This shows that death only can exist because of life? Believe what you want, but there is only different experiences of life and death is the transition between them, in fact, death is the birth into a new experience. Not trying to change your mind, just sharing how it has been for me and will continue to be so. Embrace death, but why not embrace your life beforehand!
BIGGUY100: I think there is I wonder what others think to. There is in fact a lot of evidence for life after death.
I have my own experience that lets me know that not only is there a life after death but both existences occur at the same time. Through that personal experience I've come to feel that the two worlds (there may even be several), physical and non-physical, not only cohabit within the same time-space matrix but also have influence on and inter-communication with one another every micro-second of every 24-hour period and that reminds me of a sentence I read in several religious, philosophical and spiritual books that says this: There is no death as we understand it to be. Again, all that based upon a personal experience and is non-verifiable, but it sure convinced the hell out of me (no pun intended).
