Really? In this recession, people are doing that for themselves! Also maybe the OP is qualified in some area. Very hard to go from a job that you can do and are qualified for to cutting lazy people's grass. JMO

I've been kicking it with Part time for the last 2 years, don't give up..keep trying, renew CV's,check every website and local industry,I know its down heartening some times but check out courses, training programs from local authority's back to work schemes etc..

Don't believe anyone who tell's you, you'll be to old for work, irresponsible thing to say to you for sure..

Keep the faith..thumbs up

LoopyLinks: Well said! I hate condescending pricks! Not everyone who is unemployed wants to be there, or is there by choice!

Funny that you hate such people...confused

when you suggested in your previous post that those who don't cut their own grass are 'lazy'
does that include disabled people, the over 80's etc...dunno

Spot on. I did it too when I found myself unemployed at 30. I started in a haphazard way but ended up having a reasonably successful business out of it. No work is 'below' anyone, no such thing!

bmcg1: i think you will find that the OP said he'd been trying for over a year.....thats hardly sitting on yer hole.....and of course you are right that waiting for a job to come along wont work....if that was the case 450,000 of us would just wait our turn......and to jimbo.....

you were speaking from experience?????i doubt it very much....you have all the hallmarks of a spoilt civil servant,i'm sorry to say
but then again thats "JMO!!!!!!!)
