joyaepace: Yes, may be, but somehow it is not appealing. But who knows, may be the future humans will tell in their legends that there were animals on the Earth and some were even grown for food! But no one would have tasted a real animal meat in that future! Or may be only the super rich will buy it for huge money?

Appealing for whom?

Any way:

Had I have to kill an animal to eat meat, I would be vegetarian.

joyaepace: Probably it will be grown already in a form of schnitzel or burger, as you wish!

Maybe they will grow it in the form of a moo cow or a oink oink piggy.
or maybe they will grow the whole farm. It could be the triple stem friendly farm.

Hi Lifeisadream!

That lab grown meat is not appealing to me. I think I might become vegetarian if there was no real meat available. It might be just an instinct to look for natural, tested and safe food though. Something that has been tampered in unnatural ways does not feel safe to me.

Killing an animal - difficult question. I don't like the idea of killing and even a look of the raw meat. But I don't feel well nourished eating only vegetables and fruit. In fact I feel just hungry all the time. Grains make me feel bloated and weak, probably because of blood sugar raising carbohydrates. Meat and fish is expensive, so I eat little, for example cut a chicken breast in half and a steak or fish fillet in three portions. I even have such sentiments as to thank the animal for its sacrifice of life for my nourishment. Not that it makes me feel better, but I think I owe to thank it. Difficult dilemmas though! sigh But on the other hand, are we not just animals too? However intelligent, we are animals I think, and many animals kill for food, don't they?

Right, I would not often go into butcher shops, for a single girl the prices there are bit over the top. I look for bargains in supermarkets instead, but I buy free range or sometimes even organic meat if there is discount on it.

Hi Joy e Pace!

I have never tried lab-meat but if there were not any thing else to chew on, I would.

For the intelligent animals –humans- well let us hope for that!

About the protein:

Recently, my daughter tried scorpions filled with cream cheese.
I did not. I could not.

What unusual animals’ meat have you tried?

....the trouble is super markets...sell....lower graded meats....no taste/flavor...quite often quite tough......todays meat is to lean....meat needs its own fat...for ..tenderness/flavour...

Here is a note about good flavour meat:

"Wagyu (Wagyu?, literally Japanese cow) refers to several breeds of cattle genetically predisposed to intense marbling and to producing a high percentage of oleaginous unsaturated fat.

The meat from wagyu cattle is known worldwide for its marbling characteristics, increased eating quality through a naturally enhanced flavor, tenderness and juiciness, and a high market value."

Although, Wagyu is expensive but there are other sources for meat (from land, air or the sea)that are flavorfull and reasonable priced.
