In response to: Anyone a lover of Scottish Country Dancing? There are thousands of them and this is one of my favourites.

The first dance you posted looks like the dances we did in the Bristol Renaissance Faire. (That's Bristol Wisconsin, not the town in England.) That was basically the garland dance except that we had different music and not so much bouncing up and down. We had plastic garlands made of hula hoops covered in fabric and fake flowers and ribbons. Very authentic. We did the sellinger's round, the rufty tufty, and the other guilde members did the pagan mummers dance where they whack wooden swords together and make a oentagram and wave it around. I always tell people we did Wicker Man stuff and every Saturday night, we burned a live patron of the Faire.

Yes Witchay........all the country dancing is along the same lines. Formation and teamwork.....good exercise for the brain and the body. With our Scottish Country Dancing though, we can go to lots of countries where there are scottish groups who keep up the tradition. In actual fact,we have a frenchman from Paris joining us this afternoon.

That's awesome. You should think about adding a hobby horse parade. You make people touch the ribbons on the horse and then tell them they will have many children.

I like the Irish jig dancing, and square dancing is fun, too. In my school, we did the Strauss Waltz kind of dancing.
