Do you read the General Surgeon's warning on the packs of cigarettes you buy? What do you feel when you read it?

I think: Gotta die of something, certainly don't want to live past 70. What about you?

Thanks for posting wine

What do I think...I'd rather die of extreme old age in my sleep, not wheezing and hacking up a lung. And right now I can taste my food better, look younger, feel younger and know that I don't smell or taste like an ashtray. Just my humbel opinion though doh

At some point in your life you are going to get tired of smoking and I hope for your sake and those around you that it is sooner. Now I'll get down off the soapbox but I speak from experience barf

Just watch someone dying of lung cancer and then tell me smoking's ok.

Need some stents putting in your arteries because they are blocked.

Watch someone with C.O.P.D's struggling for breathe.

Waiting for the cancer spread to other organs.

I've lost 4 loved ones from Lung Cancer, all of whom smoked.

Your life ,your habit. Best wishes from an ex smoker.handshake

A lot of doctors over here won't opperate on you if you are a smoker. It has a tremendous affect on the time it takes to heal and they figure if you don't value your health any better than to keep puting poison into it why should they? thumbs up

Gotta wake up sometime and just say you've had enough. It isn't easy but it can be done. handshake cheers

Why wouldn't you want to live past 70 if you are fit and healthy? I think as you approached 70 you might change your mind. I don't get why people smoke (I get the addiction) just not why it is so pleasurable in the first place. It makes you stink, horrible to kiss and your house smell. And here in Australia it is terribly expensive. No positives in any of that.

Give it up Mermaidon, and I might kiss you lol!

That's all well and good. Just make sure you do not impose any smoking related disorder you may develop on the way, though I in no way, wish it upon you.

I watched my elderly neighbour die from emphysema, and was deemed to be directly smoking related. The same with his elder son.
The worst of it, was his wife watching by, and looking after him for years, making sure he had oxygen and ventolin puffers on hand.

In the end, he was taken to hospital for the last time...He and his wife decided that when the moment came, when he could no longer bear the pain of taking another breath, he would give the go ahead to medical staff, with whom it had been agreed, that at that at his say so, they would administer a fatal dose of a heavy sedative. That is exactly what happened. He feel into his deep sleep.

RIP, Les and Len.

I have known for six months, or somewhere around that time.
sure, everyone thinks that they are immune to the dreaded word cancer, but let me tell you, when a doctor tells you that you have cancer, it's like being kicked in the nuts. or ovaries I would think.
You think that smoking is expensive when you are at the check out counter paying for your next pack ? Just wait until you are told that you have cancer. rolling on the floor laughing
My healing is coming along nicely. I don't want any boo-Hoo's from anyone please. simply positive vibes and energy, that's all I'm accepting. For the one's who have known and sending those vibes of energy, it's working. I walk pretty good now considering that I was paralyzed from the waist down six months ago.
Have a great weekend every one ! peace
