Hey who all likes to go camping, hiking, fishing etc? Summer isnt the time to be stuck indoors and bored!!!! Maybe even go crabbing at the coast... :)

I actually enjoy all those things. I also enjoy hunting. Just don't get to do them much anymore.

I enjoy hiking, and soon I will be doing just that. Just myself, am I worried about bears, cougars, not at all. Will I get lost, I hope so, so I can find myself again. In the reality sense of getting lost, it is next to impossible. I am always prepared, and knowing how to survive is a big part of it. If I died while hiking, well as Patrick Swazyes character in Point Break said, "it isnt tragic to die doing what you love." I guess too many people are scared to go out and see the real world for what it once was.

It's not getting lost, it's taking side trips. I do that often. Actually I don't go out alone because I'm directionally challenged. If I get in an area I don't know well I'm stuck there until someone finds me. As far as the animals out there, most are just as scared of us as we are of them. I'm careful, but I don't panic.

I made it to Pamelia Lake.. it was actually emotional. I didn't think I could do with since my accident. But I got up to Pamelia lake in just a lil over 2 hour hike, and 53lbs of gear. Had a great thunderstorm, and the weather was good. :) This is next summers trip...

A good place to check out would be in the Blue Mountains of Oregon where 'Big Foot' has recently been heard making loud strange noises! Well, the people who live near there think it's him!

Some of my side trips take me awhile to find my way back to where I was supposed to be to begin with. I also get turned around really easy, altho if I know the time of day I can tell east and west by the sun and therefore can find north and south. High noon would be harder for me to figure out.

Not sure it's even safe for me to go hiking on a sunny day. Ya you're right it wouldn't be safe. I wouldn't be able to find my way out at all.
