michael63ca: Would you leave your 15 year old daughter at home for a week by themselves to go on a trip with your new boy/girlfriend?
Are you crazy?, that thought would never enter my mind. If it's my son though, I would. One thing though, he must not have half naked chicks running around my house, they must be fully naked.

No way, a 15 year old, son OR daughter , I would not leave alone for a week, are you crazy? Think of all the things that could go wrong, like the house getting burned down or wrecked from party gate crashers!
what kind of boyfriend is that...? a week away means you are probably only available by phone then in an emergency.?and could get home in hrs/days?... house problems, i guarantee your car would be driven to who knows where/whenever:ferris bueller
michael63ca: No I am NOT crazy, but I know someone who is!
once sh-t hits the fan and police arrive,it's criminal child negligence no matter the situation-because the custodial parent is legally liable for any crime, injury, property damage and possibly non-custodial one as well.you could really wreck any trust between the parents by acting indifferent to him/her,by hiding it.you would need the child to lie about it also.
my son is 16 and i'd be concerned if he'd eat on time, go to school, do homework, stuff like that, if i left him alone and without any supervision for a week. i have no doubt he'd bring his girlfriend and his mates, so no need to worry about that i might even give it a try this summer...and hopefully still have a home to come back to
no way can't happen. don't want to know the result of that so I would never take that risk. the thought of it scares me. (don't have a 15 year old at this time though)
potarick: Depends on the make and model of the 15 yr old Some of these teen kids are older than Haitian creole!
I hear you!
Have done it in a past. With no problems. Even didn't need to clean house and, a meal was made for us to have after our trip.
If children are brought up with a sense of responsibilities ... why not.
I do believe at age of 15 they are not a children anymore .... they are more like young adults and have to act accordingly by being responsible for their actions.
