Nevica no not all fifteen year olds are party people however MOST are ! And some kids can live at home after they are 18 or whatever age they are in this economy its cheaper to do that for a lot of people and I understand that. Some have physical or mental disabilities and have to live with their parents if you don't know those particular situation then one shouldn't say anything. Plus at that age they can like some of the other people who have brought this fact up can have parties and no-one wants to their daughter/son to be a father/mother at 15.

Definitely NOT! And a boyfriend would have to understand that if my child was that age, then he/she would not be left alone for an extended period of time like that!

Not every 15 yo is the same. At 15 I lived out on my own, made my mistakes and had to deal with the consequences. My daughter is 15 and won't eat if its not cooked for her or premade and I feel she may just die if I left for a week. She has gone as far as asking me if she's goes to college out of state will I move there with her. What have I done doh

Depends on the 15 year old. I've met people in their 20's who I wouldn't leave on their own for a week.

No, can't do it for a week. Maybe overnight and with constant checking. I believe that at some point, children should be entrusted with the responsibility of being on their own and handling themselves properly. In fact it is best to teach them responsibility early and little by little according to their capacity. I would trust my children completely, but i won't trust that people won't take advantage of a child left alone. coffee good morning

If a child is safe and secure in the home and knows how to care for themselves it should be done.
We need to teach our children how to do for themselves and if not, how will they ever cope with the real life?
Give your decedents the tools to live.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but definitely a big NO....I have one 11 year old daughter who is very responsible but still a child and innocent in the mind. When she turns 15 it would still be a no,and to be honest I would be questioning the guy as to why he would think it to be okay to leave her alone for a week? it worries me more so of anything could happen? break inn's,fire..the list goes on. I'm just too much of a worry wart I'm afraid. :)

I went out one night and made sure before leaving that my daughter(15) and my step daughter(12) were at their friends houses whom they were supposed to be staying with..unknown to me they had a set of keys to my house word soon spread round the neighbourhood that they had an "empty" it wasnt long before my house had fulled up with a bunch of kids..they completely wrecked my home, the police were called and every time the police tried to enter the building the "kids" were throwing eggs/shampoo etc out the window at them..I got a call from the police to go get my daughter from the police station I asked the policeman if she had been drinking and he replied no she doesnt appear to be drunk..when I got to the police station she was fast asleep in the cell..totally bladdered..the police said .."take her home and give her a good hiding thats what she needs"..I replied.." she would only phone you`s and have me up on an assault charge...we dont have any rights as parents to dicipline our kids any more..and the kids know it..I learned the hard way laugh
