I'm an animal lover, but just an idea .What if we reduse the number of big meat eating animals 10 times .then grass eating animal numbers would increase rapidly and would be more meat for human. We humans are most dangerous preditors afterall.

Hi Rummy wave ,,I think the thing is that when you start to change things in a grand scheme something always is there to surprise you...."mother nature" doesn't like to be messed with. kinda like something they said on that movie Jurassic Park, Nature always finds a way..somethink like that I believe they say.

Thats what i m saying Con.its cos meat eating animals dont let grass eating animals get more populated .if they would get more poppulated then we could get our meat from natural farms.cheers

We are responsible for our behavior not animals … I don’t know about your area but in my own country we have not alligators or other predators except the human kind … the human benefits would be much more if we were vegetarian / health / environment / humanity bouquet

we have already done that in the US - ages ago and we are an exporter of beef, but many Americans even some few of the ranchers (who are quite powerful here) - realize that a portion of our grasslands need to be preserved to benefit the natural balance for wildlife - and many of us want to see more land dedicated to that purpose. Even with preserves our grasslands native habitat is a fraction of what is was before combine farming. We are now realising that the native prairie grasses are "naturally" of course the best fodder - so some farmers and ranchers actually hay those now

So - balance is far better - the benefits of large scale manipulation of the habitat is generally for a relatively short term financial gain and usually only to benefit a few - what is better for society at large is far more important
