or most not open and honest and say what they really feel. Like saying to somebody lets just be friends????? Instead of saying hey I am really not that into you???????
I often wonder is it better to be straight forward or should we really sugar coat things to make somebody else feel better???
The problem with that is you could lead somebody up the garden path and that way really hurt them????

What do you think is the best way????
Straight forward is the best method.
We're all adults, so getting butthurt for a few seconds as we find out there's not a chance of a relationship, is a hell of a lot better than being shot down in flames when we think there's a chance. Especially when you've been led on for several weeks.

Hi Jo, The problem is some people are never able to accept rejection.
People link up,find out it's not what they want ,then when they try to end it, the other person gets nasty. It's called life.
At the end of the day honesty is ALWAYS the best policy.j.m.o.

Thats what i have always believed being honest and straight forward and state what I feel. The thing that is people I meet or have met play this I like you game and then say can we please be friends...........For me I will know very soon could I be with this person or not. Why do others take months to find this out?????

If you are referring to men then I think that they have a different take on life.
Also some people are fickle and while it suits them to string someone along ,rather than be single, the eye is always looking out for opportunities.

Nothing new in the mating game Jo.
Yes it looks like I was not in the class when they were explaining why men are just not honest with what they really need, want or feel. Guess I should re-take that class

WHOA! WHOA! WHOA! Let's not start generalizing here! I have been "led down the garden path" lot's of times by women that were not able to tell me what they really need, want or feel! I prefer to think that this was just them as humans and not because they are women.

Ok then let me fix that by saying I missed the class where men and woman were told it is ok to not be honest about ur feelings.

I think that is a great question that shows sensitivity & kindness. For me, I always start as friends then if nothing else develops I don't have to "friend zone" the guy. Doesn't always work perfectly but most guys I have dated I am still friends of tho
