TheITDude: Generally I don't tend to frequent pubs or clubs very often these days as I spend most of my time in either the office or training in the gym twice a day, or studying if the chance arises....the perils of being an IT nerd :D

I have an inner nerd that I nourish regularly nerd

If I had been born 30 years later I would definitely have got involved in your industry, I just love everything to do with computers and gadgets grin

Most of us do have the "inner nerd" but in my age bracket, it's neither cool or fashionable to put it out there.....rather ironic that 99% of the people who tend to think it's not cool own a mobile phone, tablet (Ipad, Galaxy tab etc) or a laptop (MAC or PC) which was invented and developed by who.....NERDS :P

It's funny you should say about your daughter and her partner meeting via the industry...it's quite common place due to similar interest factor and the ability to understand what each other's job entails and sacrifices that need to be made to succeed in their roles and careers in general (and relationships)

Spot on thumbs up

He's now 35 and has been in IT since graduating from uni. His career has progressed steadily, hence his responsibilites - he works for a global company so it's nothing for him to receive business calls or respond to emails through the night, or work through weekends.

Although the financial benefits are excellent, it's not easy for those with young families and could put a strain on relationships in general conversing
