A qok is prefect for a Filipino rice dish, all ingredients cooked together...Basic ingredients include uncooked rice, a whole chicken cut into small pieces with bones intact, lots and lots of garlic, and fish sauce. I rather like to add fresh basil, the Greek or Italian, or even Thai.

Thanks whitehorse. I haven't cooked this one for years. You've reminded me. Hope all is well with you.

smoky: We have one in the cellar, where it lives until someone feels like making a stir-fry all fancy and authentic then they have to go down there and fetch it! It takes up too much space in the kitchen pot-cupboard!

So ..... you`ll just have to live a celibate life in Malta - no snow there innit?

Smoky, you are very funny...

Keep on rockin'

Aaahhh you just reminded me of another use for old frying pan.......

You know these horrible Teflon frying pans? Well, I used to dump them, as they got worn out (I don`t use them but my D-in-Law does and she goes thru then like discarding old socks) Well I unscrewed the handle, and now it sits on the upturned roots of an old tree outside as a bird bath. Makes a lovely natural non-skid bird bath!

just waiting for some more old frying pans, cause I need another one at boyfriends house.

hi again, fill your stove with soil and allow flowers to grow out from the burners ... you should win awards and plenty of joy once the idea becomes a reality ... good luck and send me a pic at, goldenhlt@ yahoo.com
