The news this morning stated 2/3 of adults have experienced cyber crime. Not surprisingly love scams is on top of the list.

There are however so many other scams...any one been scammed in other ways?.....

I saw a free trail offer on facebook for some face cream...only postage to be paid. The free samples were supposed to be delivered within 10 working days..3 weeks later I got the cream. I noticed my bank acct was going down and on going thru my statement saw the cream company had been withdrawing amounts of $70+ every 5 day or so..$680 all up.
Luckily my bank was really helpful and instantly cancelled and reissued me with a new card as well as repaying the money.

Anyone have similar experience to make us aware?

Be better if you arranged a PayPal account, that way you are not giving out your credit card details, so that sort of activity can't happen. If doesn't cost you anything to buy items with, no charge only charge is paid by the seller

And another bites the dust -

You think by nowfrustrated frustrated that the idiots would have wised up to the fact, that if they put yahoo.com on their emails to me, they will end up in the trash bin....

(Sorry couldn't find the scammer thread, and I wasn't trolling through the pages...) so I hijacked this thread...

This is as simple as it comes -

A few years ago my landline and mobile was listed in the school newsletter being the pandc secretary... what I didn't know is that my personal details could be searched online because of the way the newsletter was uploaded...
Now my facebook is locked, my google account is locked which means you can search, but you won't find me listed...
