Jack, can you tell me the reason why the US and UK, among others, went into Afghanistan not so long ago.

pakistan hide bin laden, your country is on par with afganistan
Jack68: Fork and knifes are good to eat pizza not to sacrifies your own army,
Supper is a word in my area that means dinner. And I am cooking but am hungry now. So I thought food
On your question I could only give you my opinion. Not facts. I still wish this had really been supper.
Oh by the way were you not the one who wanted to know how the big machinery was going to be moved. Not easily but I think they got it under control from what I heard on my news this morning. Is that not what all the belly aching has been about your country wanted us gone? You cannot have it both ways

Well I could sum it up in a few sentences, but not without pissing off people who think that they are living on the sunny side of the street ...
patmac: In the time you have taken to answer the questions you have just replied to, you could have actually answered the question relevant to the debate...As the OP of the "so called debate" it is your duty to run the thread properly.
Clearly you are avoiding the question and that is a sure sign you are not debating properly.
But what else can we expect nowadays....Sad when folk ask a question and then refuse to debate.....Not a way to run a thread....I for one will be reporting your clear failure and incorrect running of a thread.
I dont care all the questions because i dont want headaches like you

bin Laden is dead......one less alQeada leader to kill Pakistani.
Jack68: I dont care all the questions because i dont want headaches like you
Then why do you open a thread inviting a debate and the refuse to debate the point?????
Totally wrong I did report your failure to the Mods...Others may do the same, but if you open a thread you must be prpared to discuss the point of the question.
You clearly are not going to....Waste of time you opening a thread then...

America has wanted a new government in Afghanistan since at least 1998, three years before the attacks on 11 September 2001. The official report from a meeting of the U.S. Government's foreign policy committee on 12 February 1998, available on the U.S. Government website, confirms that the need for a West-friendly government was recognised long before the War on Terror that followed September 11th.
"The U.S. Government's position is that we support multiple pipelines... The Unocal pipeline is among those pipelines that would receive our support under that policy. I would caution that while we do support the project, the U.S. Government has not at this point recognized any governing regime of the transit country, one of the transit countries, Afghanistan, through which that pipeline would be routed. But we do support the project." [ U.S. House of Reps., "U.S. Interests in the Central Asian Republics", 12 Feb 1998 ]
"The only other possible route [for the desired oil pipeline] is across, Afghanistan which has of course its own unique challenges."
[ "U.S. Interests in the Central Asian Republics", 12 Feb 1998 ]
"CentGas can not begin construction until an internationally recognized Afghanistan Government is in place."

maxmate1: Another from Soviet Union resulted in it's disintegration.
No. The seed to the Soviet Unions end was Gorbachev. Both his bravery and incompetence in almost equal measure. When Gorbachev came to power he gave his military 1 yr either to win 100% or leave. This was in 1986 IIRC. If someone else along the lines of Andropov had come to power instead of Gorbachev, the Soviets would have persisted. They never lost a single battle and the war itself turned into a battle of supply ambushes. It's no coincidence that the Puppet Regime held out for 3 years!!! after the Soviets actually left, and the Mujahideen had resorted to fielding children by the late '80's.
The Soviets fought a very different war. There was no 'collateral damage'. If enemy units were in a village, the Village was considered sympathetic and everyone was destroyed.
The war itself was costly for them. But not near enough to bring them down.
almera03: Max, try sticking to the point of the thread.........
Still waiting for the OP to answer my question to him
Perhaps you'll answer for him
I am sticking to the facts. And think it's of utmost importance to see the warmongering history in the region and the so called reasons behind it. That tells why illegal wars ended with no result or with shame eventualy.
maxmate1: My post 25 states ugly facts of history and Britain's illegal wars in the Afghanistan Region. It also proves how the seed of war was sown in Afghanistan. It shows the truth about how today's war is worthless, in light of the historic warmongers. A truth revealing post indeed. And ofcourse you replied with your usual rant and avoided the facts. Says it all.....relax.
This is sad history though. And given the habbitual patterns of some powers, not a surprise! Same old faces, same old agendas, same old wars!
Same old bingo numbers, same old mixture of fact and fiction.
Same old nonesense on your favourite Royals a fact you know nothing about...same old Propaganda Max....Trying to highjack another thread...
We are all waiting for the actual OP to answer the question put to him your obfuscation is as normal unwanted and not totally relevant to the thread....
And as for agendas, Max your bias against the US/UK and the Royals is laughable....Especially as the Royals have nothing whatever to do with the point of the thread.....You really must have fun in your world Max...
